I've cut some beautiful flowers for tomorrow 🥰 As I was arranging them, this very soggy bee popped out of one! I've put her back outside somewhere sheltered to dry off 🐝 It's a difficult time for bees, they've spent so long struggling for water and now there's too much of it! ☔

It's not all pretty flowers 💐 I've just turned a compost bin 🤎 This was started in May - Grass cuttings, kitchen scraps and all of the prunings and dead heads from the garden, plus some shredded paper and cardboard have turned into beautiful compost full of life 🪱 Nothing beats home made compost 🥰

So.. We finally got our food waste bins 🧡 Aren't they cute?! 🤣 We already compost most things ourselves and we will be using these new bins for Bokashi composting - I'm going to do a tutorial for this soon if you'd like to do the same with your new bins - I may even stock the Bokashi bran that you need to do this 🌱

Basically you can compost any food waste by doing Bokashi 🌱 Just no extreme amounts of fluid (milks, juices ect)

Bokashi composting is perfect for those with small gardens who don't have space for regular composting. Waste turns to compost very quickly (4-6 weeks) The juicy stuff at the bottom is good as a liquid fertiliser (watered down) Yummy 🤣

So if this is interesting to you, keep an eye out for our tutorial 👀

(Just to add) The council food waste scheme is optional, if you don't want to take part you don't need to return the bins. They are yours to do whatever you'd like with (so let's make compost!) 🤣
