🍃 purslane!
each leaf is a nutritional powerhouse! Early English purslane is a wonderful addition to every meal or salad

🥦 purple sprouting broccoli!
roast it, steam it, stir-fry it - PSB is more nutritionally beneficial than even regular broccoli! It’s a fantastic early veg to gently close the gate on our way out of the hunger gap!

🍝 northern pasta is back in stock… rejoice!

ROOTSTOCK Report // Feb ‘26

Alas folks, the time has come where English vegetables drop from our ordering lists one-by-one. If you aren’t sick of celeriac and cabbage just yet, that’s great news… we have more coming! Jokes aside, hang on in and we’ll soon be rolling out the red carpet for that sweet spring stuff! 🥬

Feb has been short, sweet and steady (although half terms do suck for us)! We hosted our first sell-out supper club of the year to celebrate love on Valentine’s day! It was lovely! It’s so special to sit strangers together and hear laughter, on top of enjoying Naomi’s food… more of this please! 😋

Talkin’ about cabbage… we have some spaces left on our fermentation workshop next Sunday! Traditionally in the toughest period of the year for produce, we would have relied heavily on preserved foods; so why not learn to make your own, eh? We’ll be learning about how fascinating fermenting is, making sauerkraut & walkin’ away with the knowledge so you never have to buy it in-store again! (although are amazing!) 🤩

ROOTSTOCK report // winter 25-26

A well overdue check-in!

The festive period was an absolute cracker; we had a military operation and less-sleep-than-usual to get the good stuff out to you in time for your festivities. A huuuge thanks to our incredible team for their hard work! All which was well rewarded with our break, reopening back up in January…

A steady start for us this year which has been a delightful welcome to 2026! It really feels like our new store in Alderley is starting to cement itself and that is such a lovely feeling. Last year was absolute graft building a new site from scratch, growing our team, as well as growing our inventory and footfall in Bollington still!

On the topic of growing our community; we have kick-started our series of events and workshops off, with teaching folks all about fire cider! It was brilliant and so so lovely to sit & share a table to learn with you. It has made us so excited to get stuck in building this good thing we’ve got goin’ on! Here’s a sneak peak of our event schedules across both stores! 👀

We’ve only one couples ticket left to join us on valentines! Other things that are scarce, too, is organic seasonal English produce as we start walking towards the most difficult time of the year in our world… 🥁 the hunger gap! 🥁

We’ll touch on that real soon! But for now, we’re cracking on to make sure we’ve still got amazing fresh produce coming in for us all…

THIS WEEKEND I’M BACK IN BEAUTIFUL BOLLY!!

Returning to where I first launched my boat stall back in May, but this time a little differently! Due to the low water levels in the canal I had to make alternative arrangements to bring my wares back to Bollington. And although since I made those arrangements we’ve had a lot of rain and the levels have increased, I’m honouring the lovely folk who have allowed me to pop up at their establishments and I’m sticking to my plans to trade on land. I hope that by attracting you with my jams, pestos, cordials, and sauces, you might then go and enjoy a cheeky coffee and cake from them too!

Saturday I’ll be popping up outside the gorgeous Rootstock on Palmerston Street. 10am-3pm with my preserves, sausage rolls, cakes and cheese scones!

And on Sunday I’ll be outside the brilliant Cafe Waterside at Clarence Mill. Here I’ll have all my preserves and some lovely seasonal organic veg but Cafe Waterside will be providing you with your baked goods needs as they do it so very well! 🍰

Also if I can get my bum into gear I’ll be taking pre-orders for Christmas Cakes… 🎅 👀
