The Tea Room has had a makeover for a new year!

We were very pleased to receive a donation of tables and chairs from a supermarket cafe that closed earlier last year. They are a wonderful addition to the space - thank you very much Sainsbury's! Also the biggest thank you to Handy Sam Services for the impeccable paint job!

We'd also like to thank Little Greene for its donation of paint, further transforming the space with a splash of smart and serene colour that really shows off our new higher counter, bigger fridge and new coffee machine!

We're still making a few finishing touches, but you're welcome to come and enjoy the freshened-up Tea Room during your Museum visit from 10.00am - 4.00pm, Wednesdays - Saturdays.

The van is back!
Just over 4 weeks off the road, it's the proud owner of a new: flywheel, clutch, gear box, ABS sensor, CV boot, and other bits, whew 😅.
I'm now on Plan C.
The van's return was too late for last/this week's window round.
So I've had to skip the entire round for this month, in turn, I've reverted back to my original diary schedule.
I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has created and appreciate the understanding people have shown.

To my lovely customers, I'll be letting you know individuality but this offers a bit more information for context.

I'll be pushing my whole diary back a full week effective immediately.
This will impact all of my customers as it changes all dates for everyone.
My van is off the road and next week is my window round which I'm unable to carry out without it. I'm unable to swap things around in a way that works. This decision has not come lightly and it's already my plan B.
I have successfully prevented moving or cancelling much through my first two years despite the van spending over 7 weeks off the road already and this is the first time I'm moving my window rounds. This repair adds 4 more weeks to that total and takes the repair costs to the equivalent of just over 1 full weeks wage per month for the last year. My van registration is listed in the dictionary under 'sunken cost fallacy' 🤦
This has influenced a lot of things and is currently having a greater impact than I would like.
I love this job so much, it's hands down the best job I've ever had in my 20 years of full time employment, it's become such a healthy environment, allowing me to flourish and become truly content in work. Something too few get to realise, I appreciate how lucky I am with that.
I've met lots of wonderful people and built lots of lovely relationships during this time, where I'm seeing customers more often than my own friends.
All I ask is that people are patient with me and don't misunderstand the cause of anything stemming from this current turbulence, I've not become complacent, I'm just a bit busy with it all.
I'm bouncing forwards with optimism, I couldn't have got this far without so many wonderful people supporting me and using my services, I know you're all routing for me and will get me through this next leg 🦵😅💪.

Good morning!

It's been a while.... I've been a wee bit busy!

Good news, I'm still taking on windows, if you're in need of a reliable, thorough and friendly window cleaner, please WhatsApp, text or call me on 07476 954 642.

Bad news, I'm now fully booked up to the end of 2025 for all other works. So I'm currently unable to take on any additional jobs.

That said, I do have space for a couple more people on my gardening round, space is limited, I'm unable to start until April, but if you're interested, I offer traditional gardening services such as weeding, pruning, dead heading and flower bed maintenance (no lawns or hedges) and can be contacted on the number above.

Please note, I don't get on with messenger and I'm unlikely to respond to messages sent in this method.

The parade will set off from the Silk Museum near Park Green at 17.00. The parade will head for Christ Church where a hot drinks reception will be held inside the church and there will be light-up performances in the grounds.

It's with deep sadness I share this. Those who know me will be aware I helped out here regularly and I enjoyed every minute. Thanks for the opportunities and memories.

It comes with a heavy heart to announce that due to health reasons, Breakaway Bike Maintenance Ltd will be closing the unit at Arch 3, Viaduct Road in Altrincham.

As some of you know, the unit has been closed more frequently recently. Each day that we have had to close has been disappointing but sadly necessary.

Since Breakaway began, giving the best service has always been paramount. However, it has become increasingly difficult for me to give the service that I would like, and that you all deserve.
As I'm sure you can all appreciate, heath comes first, and at this time, I've had to make the very difficult decision to close the unit at Arch 3.

Thank you to you all, all of the lovely customers, new and old, that have been patient and understanding, it is very much appreciated and a pleasure to work on your bikes!

We will still be contactable at [email protected] for the foreseeable future.
