Great to see our line handler designs winning Best Line Boat in the Work Boat World - Baird Maritime awards.

AWARDS 2025: "These two new compact line-handling vessels that have entered service at the Port of Vancouver are exceptionally versatile without being over-complicated.

"Primarily used for transferring mooring lines during berthing and unberthing operations, the vessels can also perform emergency response, man-overboard rescue, and weather/tide monitoring for pilots.

"These vessels represent a modern, purpose-built solution tailored specifically for line-handling duties in one of North America’s most active harbours."

Macduff Ship Design is proud to see two of our older designs, namely “HRINGUR” (Ex – “MARINA POLARIS”) and “ATLANTIC CHALLENGE” continuing to deliver exceptional performance to their owners.

The “ATLANTIC CHALLENGE” was sold to Namibia and has undergone modifications to make it suitable for the new owners.

The “HRINGUR” was previously sold to Iceland in 2005.

Macduff Ship Design are wishing sucess to the new owners of the vessels and hope to hear of many more years of safe and prosperous operation.

Since January Ian and Duncan have been attending Help to Grow: Management Course at Aberdeen Business School, RGU. The course covered 12 modules helping develop business management skills for leaders in small and medium sized enterprises. The course completed last week and we were pleased to receive certificates.

A key highlight was the discussions with other business leaders undertaking the course. These open conversations about experiences and challenges faced complimented the lectures perfectly.
