Northmoor Road, Oxford: once home to J.R.R. Tolkien, has been thoughtfully restored and reimagined for modern living.
Our role was to quietly introduce intelligent technology into a property rich with history, ensuring every system works seamlessly behind the scenes, while the character of the home remains untouched.
From a fully integrated KNX system to the UK’s first installation of the Eelectron OL-U switch range, this project blends innovation with heritage. The client even took this a step further, customising the control interfaces with subtle LOTR-inspired icons, creating a truly personal connection to the home’s legacy.

It’s with great pleasure that we share our latest residential project, a beautifully remodelled penthouse apartment in King’s Cross, London.

Working closely with our client, we developed a comprehensive and elegant control strategy, aligning technology with lifestyle to create a home that is intuitive, efficient and truly enjoyable to live in.

This project is a strong example of what can be achieved when design, engineering and collaboration come together.

Our Approach: At AVINU, every project begins with understanding how our clients want to live. For Plimsoll, this meant:
