Sometimes your sockets may like fine but have internal damage, like the photos below.

The most frequent sockets that get this type of damage are kitchen sockets with a high load, toaster, kettle etc.

If you've got any black marks around any of the plug entry holes, stop using this socket immediately and contact a professional.
