Designscape Consultancy Provides Architectural And Urban Design Services Kent
Located in Kent, Designscape Consultancy provides architectural and urban design services to a wide client base with an emphasis on customer service. We have a commitment to raising the quality of life through a dedication to quality in the built environment. This is evident in the many projects to which we have made an

important contribution. Our services include Urban Design, Architectural Design, Technical Production Information, and
Job-Running. Our projects range from one-off new houses, to new housing schemes of 5 to 85 houses, to apartment schemes of up to 50 apartments, to entire city blocks and beyond. We were established in 2004 and we offer a personal yet highly professional service. This commences by sitting down with you to go through your project requirements. We firmly believe design does not need to cost. Design is not just about aesthetics: the layout of a scheme or the flow of a house are fundamental and can be just as important or more important. Design is about added value: whether it be increased financial value or an enhanced quality of life. We are based in Maidstone in the south-east of England, and are well-placed for projects across Kent and in London.

🚨 The new NPPF 2026 has landed, and it could have a major impact on planning and development across the country.

The National Planning Policy Framework sets the highest level of planning policy in England, influencing local plans and planning decisions for years to come.

So what does the new NPPF actually mean for developers, landowners and anyone looking to secure planning permission?

We’re breaking it down into 3 key areas that directly relate to the work we do at Designscape Consultants.

This is just the beginning 👀

Good infrastructure matters. 🚆

Having lived in East Asia, I’ve seen first hand how seriously infrastructure is taken and the huge impact well planned transport can have on how people move, connect and experience a city.

It’s great to see improvements being made across London’s Overground network, including the Mildmay line, and even better to see these routes being given their own identities and becoming more clearly integrated into the wider transport network.

Infrastructure might not always be the most glamorous topic, but it plays a huge role in shaping the places we live and work.

What infrastructure improvements would you like to see more of across London? Let us know in the comments. 🤔

Do you prefer face to face meetings or a quick email?

Face to face meetings and genuine connections are a big part of how I like to work with clients.

There’s something about sitting down together, having a conversation and building that relationship beyond the project itself. And when those meetings happen over a delicious lunch, even better! 😄

Divana on Drummond Street near Euston Station is one of my favourite spots for exactly that. Vegetarian food, great atmosphere and the perfect setting for a catch up.

Good business is built on good relationships.

🇬🇧 Britain’s future might be brighter than you think…

Standing outside the Francis Crick Institute in London, it’s hard not to feel proud of what’s being achieved right here in the UK.

There’s a lot of talk about Britain being in decline, but look at sectors like biosciences, life sciences and technology and the picture looks very different.

The UK is attracting huge levels of investment and, in biosciences and research, investment is greater than Germany and France combined.
That’s not a country without a future. That’s a country at the forefront of some of the most important industries of tomorrow.

Perhaps the story of Britain’s future isn’t quite as gloomy as we’re sometimes led to believe. 🇬🇧

Do you think the UK is still a world leader in innovation?

£7.5 MILLION for a penthouse at St Pancras 😱

Perched above one of London’s most iconic examples of High Victorian Gothic architecture, there’s currently a penthouse on the market for an eye watering £7.5 million.

But will it achieve that price?

With the London property market currently facing slower turnover and properties taking longer to sell, sellers are increasingly having to reconsider their asking prices. In some cases, reductions of 10% or even 20% are needed to get a deal across the line.

Even at £6.8 million, that’s still an extraordinary amount of money for an extraordinary building.

But beyond the price tag, what a building. And thankfully, this piece of architectural history is still standing.

Would you pay £7.5 million to live at St Pancras? 👀

😱 St Pancras Railway Station was nearly demolished.

It’s hard to believe that a building of this incredible quality was once considered something to be embarrassed by, rather than celebrated.

Thankfully, buildings like St Pancras survived, allowing us to appreciate the craftsmanship, character and ambition that went into creating them.
It’s a reminder that great architecture should be valued, protected and understood before we decide it has had its day.

What do you think? Should historic buildings always be preserved, or are there times when demolition is justified?👇

Your home should grow with the way you live.

A property can look impressive on paper, but if the layout no longer works for your lifestyle, it’s time to rethink the space.

One of the biggest requests we see is a larger, more functional kitchen because today’s homes are designed around bringing family and friends together.

A well designed kitchen extension doesn’t just create a better way of living. It can also add significant value to your property by improving flow, functionality and everyday enjoyment.

Choosing the right architect isn’t just about their portfolio. It’s about the people behind it.

Before making your decision, make sure you book an in person meeting. A face to face conversation gives you the chance to discuss your vision, ask questions, and make sure you’re both on the same page from the very beginning.

Just as importantly, you’ll quickly know whether you’re the right fit for one another. A successful project is built on clear communication, trust and a strong working relationship.

At Designscape CONSULTANTS, we believe every project starts with a conversation. That’s why we always take the time to meet our clients, understand their goals and provide the personal service they deserve.
