Hardwood dining or kitchen table.
Handmade using only hardwoods Maple and Iroko.
The framework has been panted a pale grey and the table top has been treated with "Danish Oil" to enhance the natural grain and protect the surface.
There is a cutlery draw built in with soft close runners and brass pull handles.
The table top can be lifted clear of the frame to facilitate transport or moving from room to room.

Dimensions 1800 mm x 1100 mm (will seat 8 persons)

Memory Box.
I have recently been asked to make a memory box for a newly born. This is a box made from european oak with a maple lid surround. The box is enhanced with brass hinges, lid stays and a precision button catch. The box is completed with a soft felt finish on the inside of the lid.
The dimensions are: L 34cms x W 24cms x H 23cms.

Of course with all of my work the size, in this case, of the box is made to the customers specification.

From the photographs the "owners" name can be seen engraved into the lid.

On this face book page it can be seen that i have made the complete newly born's portfolio. Shelves for favorite books and toys, baby "topper", memory box, toy box and a jewellery box for the girls. The complete baby suite.

Recently built and installed for a client is a solid oak desk and draw unit. The drawer includes a soft close damper and a solid brass cable surround to take the light cable direct to the rear of the desk. Also included was 2 sets of oak shelves on both sides of a fire place. The unit was built to fit "snuggly" into an existing space and fixed through to the walls to avoid supporting legs.
The customer also requested a small separate area at the rear and underside of the desk to store logs for the adjacent wood burner.
The woodwork was finished off with 3 coats of "Liburon" wax finish.

Baby's first book shelf.
Made from Maple and Cherry and a perfect match to go with the chest of drawer "topper" already posted on this site.
This particular one is 85 cm in length and 25 cm wide.

To enhance the appearance the book shelf is held together using brass screws. It is attached to the wall using top quality brass screws which i salvaged from an ancient piano which was being broken up.

Any size can be accommodated. It is strong enough to be a long standing book or ornament shelf that can follow "junior" as the ages pass and new homes are welcomed

Baby Changing "Topper"

For the discerning, cultured and upwardly mobile newly born, a hand made changing "topper", made from a mixture of cherry and maple hard wood.

It comes complete with fitting brackets and anti scratch pads fitted to its base that will allow it to be fitted to virtually all chest of drawers.

Dimensions: 710 mm x 510 mm x 100 mm

It is finished with 3 applications of child friendly wax polish which enhances the colour and pattern of the wood grain.

Free standing book shelves.
Beautifully restored hard wood shelf unit. This item of furniture is at least 100 years old. Several hours were spent taking it apart and carefully removing layers of the original black/dark brown stain that seemed to suggest somebody was very busy during Queen Victoria's reign. Now treated with 3 layers of wax treatment it would look elegant in any home office or sitting room.

This jewellery/memory box is handmade using only white oak, enhanced by quality brass fitting. As can be seen from the attached video it has several trays and internal boxes in which to organise your "special" possessions or memories.
It is treated with 3 coats of "Liberon" wax polish which enhances the very attractive oak wood grain.
This would be an ideal christening or special birthday gift.
As each item is hand made a lead time of 5 to 6 weeks can be expected.
