Barlows (UK) Ltd. We are a family run business, established in 1948 by Thomas Clifford Barlow. We started out in a small electrical repair shop in the village of Malpas in Cheshire and have steadily grown from a small company to having branches in Cheshire, Shropshire and Manchester, including four retail outlets. Our company now has over 250 directly employed staff and a fleet of more than 150 ve
hicles. In 2005 we opened our Manchester office in Chadderton, Oldham to meet the requirements of our clients as demand for reactive and proactive responsive repairs increased across Manchester, Lancashire and Yorkshire. Our Manchester office has built on these foundations to form a strong client base across all sectors, becoming a trusted contractor for many social housing organisations, local councils and building contractors. We continue to grow in the maintenance sector by providing housing associations and our partners with quick reactive maintenance and we aim to complete jobs in one visit: where further visits are required, we have identified communication with our clients is key. Our electrical contracting division carries out a wide scope of electrical contracting from small alterations or rewires for domestics customers to full design and installation of public houses and commercial premises for building contractors. We work with a number of local authorities and have become a trusted contractor providing detailed and independent NICEIC periodic inspection reports of electrical installations. From these inspections we are then able to bring each electrical installation up to the current wiring regulations whether the property needs electrical remedial works or a complete electrical rewire. Our technical services engineers carry out the installation and repair of access control, fire alarm installations and electrical boiler systems, providing a one stop shop for technical solutions.
