Well done to Tori for flying our flag in this morning’s Rainbow 5K Run and for a great cause! 💙

Tori does so much behind the scenes keeping the family home and office running, so it was lovely to see her take some time for herself and do something she enjoys — especially when it’s raising money for a charity close to home. ❤️

The Hospice is particularly close to our hearts, as my nan has spent time there.

A massive well done to everyone who took part this morning — you all did brilliantly! 👏🏃‍♀️🌈

And an incredible £12,000 has been raised by the rainbow run, great to see 🎉🙌

🚪😬 Both French doors had dropped so badly they couldn’t even lock and no amount of adjustment or reglazing was going to fix them!

Both doors were catching badly at the bottom and the hinges would adjust, then immediately drop again. A couple were also visibly damaged. 👀

The solution? 6 brand-new hinges and a complete re-hang of both doors to get them sitting perfectly again. 💪

This large picture window overlooking the garden from the kitchen was completely wet and misted from corner to corner, making it almost impossible to enjoy the view.

🚨 Locked out… and it wasn’t just the lock causing the problem. 🔐🚪

This door could still be locked and unlocked from the inside, but the euro cylinder had completely failed on the outside, leaving the customer unable to gain entry. 😬

Unfortunately, it failed with the door locked shut. In trying to force it open, the customer accidentally damaged the central gearbox in the locking strip, meaning the problem had gone beyond just a failed lock.

On closer inspection, the individual hooks and gearboxes were also showing signs of wear. As these mechanisms are riveted together, replacing just one component wouldn’t have been the best long-term solution.

Watch this tired window disappear and a brand-new one take its place in under a minute! 🪟✨

This job in Worcester involved replacing two windows that had reached the end of their life.

Upstairs, the double glazing had blown and filled with water, the opener hinges had failed, the gasket had perished, and mould had started to take hold 😬

Downstairs, the seals had failed, the mechanism had packed up, the handle had snapped off, and mould was starting to creep through as well

There was another important upgrade too… neither window had fire escape hinges, and both only had a single central opener. The new windows now feature two opening sashes with fire escape hinges, improving ventilation, usability, and providing a much safer means of escape if ever needed 🔥🪟

🎣 Not a bad office for the day… just look at this venue! 🐟💦🌳☀️

We recently took a trip to Maver bait-tech Woodlandview Fishery for a nice change of scenery, where the recent hot weather, doors and windows being left open, and a few strong winds had left plenty of jobs needing attention before the busy holiday season.

🎥 Here’s a quick look at the day…

🏡 Inspected all 10 holiday static homes
🔧 Adjusted door hinges where needed
🪟 Re-toed and heeled doors and windows
🛠️ Replaced 5 pairs of failed window hinges
🚪 Fitted a brand-new door handle
🏪 Even got the tackle shop door working properly again after it had been difficult to operate for ages!
