Virtual Power Plants explained. Your home battery could be earning you money and most people have no idea.

Part 3 of The Orchard

We’re excited to give you a look at this incredible home in Greater Manchester as it continues to come together.

We’ve installed a Vaillant UK 12kW AroTHERM Plus air source heat pump — a key step in creating an energy-efficient, future-ready home.

From design to delivery, every detail of this project has been carefully considered, and it’s great to see sustainable technology playing such an important role.

Part 2 – The Orchard⚡

This stage was all about the infrastructure.

Installing the boards, running the bus wiring, building the network backbone and integrating CCTV, alarms, ventilation and the underfloor heating manifold so everything works together as one system.

A lot of the work at this stage disappears behind walls and panels, but it’s the foundation that makes the whole project run smoothly.

Power, data, security, heating and control – all connected.

The Orchard is starting to take shape.

This has been a fantastic project for us — taking the property from first fix electrics right through to the installation of a 12kW air source heat pump.

Last night’s Channel 4 programme Guy Martin’s House Without Bills sparked a lot of interest in how UK homes can dramatically reduce heating costs using modern energy technology.

One of the key takeaways from the programme was the role air source heat pumps can play when they’re properly designed, installed and matched to the property.
