It’s Thursday! It’s soup kitchen day at The Halfway House, Droylsden. On today’s menu is Vegetable soup and crusty bread. As always the food is free and everyone is welcome. 4pm until 6. Your host today is the official quiz adjudicator Anthony! See you there! ☺️

This is the beautiful lady who has helped us for almost as long as we have been doing this. Every time she rocks up to our house she brings months and months supplies of sanitary products that we share with our community, charities and local pubs. She also shares seasonal products such as Easter eggs and advent calendars even though she doesn’t have to. This is Michaela and as much as she hates photos and recognition, she is another one of our community heroes. Can everyone please show this generous lady some love ###x And as always message if you need any sanitary help. (100% confidential)

Last night we had the most amazing delivery of ladies sanitary and bathroom products from our amazing Michaela who has supported us for over 5 years. There is no period poverty in Clayton thanks to this lady. If anyone is in need please message the page and tell us what you need it’s all confidential. What an absolutely lovely afternoon we have had. Most importantly all the food has gone and the bread has been shared. We also received a £10 donation from Stokey, thank you very much. And a big thank you to Becky for the bowls, forks and the beautiful flowers. Next week you will be in the care of the adjudicator Antony as I won’t be there!! It will be a soup next week and chicken curry the week after. Thank you to everyone who came. Thank you to everyone who helps to make this happen every week. x

Thank you to Mr Ian Harrison for our weekly bread delivery this morning. Tomorrow’s soup kitchen will be serving Bolognese with pasta. As usual all our spare bread is outside on Stokes Street.

Another lovely afternoon at The Halfway House. Amazing people with such kindness. All the food went and lots of conversations were had. Thank you Maggie 🫶🏻 just for being you. Lovely to see all our regulars. Thank you to Ilyas for your muffin buttering skills and for pulling the cart home x And a massive thank you as always to Scott and Ellie who allow us to use your pub every single week. What a community!!! The biggest thank you this week goes to Pete for donating £10 towards our food. Next week we are hoping (if it cools down enough) to do a chicken curry. 🥰 Love you all.
