πŸ† Winning Wednesday! πŸ†

Congratulations to Cara operative Andrew Ferguson, who has won H&MV’s SSD Award for the second month running! πŸ‘

The award recognises individuals who actively identify and report potential safety concerns, while also highlighting the positive work taking place on site.

Andrew has consistently demonstrated a proactive approach to preventing hazards before they happen, while maintaining a vigilant eye across site at all times.

A fantastic example of what a strong safety culture looks like in action.

Well done, Andrew β€” keep up the great work! πŸ‘

26.2 miles. Countless memories. One incredible cause. πŸ’šπŸ₯Ύ

Last Saturday, Cara group took on the Peak District Mighty Hike, walking a full marathon distance to raise money for .

Made up of Cara employees, family, and friends, the team showed incredible determination, resilience, and teamwork from the first mile to the last. Every hill climbed, every mile completed, and every word of encouragement shared was for a cause that makes a real difference to people living with cancer and their families.

One of our hikers, Alex Wieczorek, captured the spirit of the day perfectly:

"This was a big challenge for me. I'm not an athlete by any means; my usual walk would be a pub crawl! If it wasn't for my team, I think I could have quit. It's reassuring to know that both in and out of work, I have such a supportive team around me."

That quote says it all.

This challenge wasn't just about walking 26.2 milesβ€”it was about supporting one another, pushing beyond our comfort zones, and coming together to make a meaningful impact.

A huge congratulations to everyone who took part. You should all be incredibly proud of what you've achieved, both on the trail and through the funds you've raised.

πŸ—οΈ Giving Back to Our Community πŸ’™

We're incredibly proud to have supported GMI on the transformation of Hilltop SEND School in Rotherham – a fantastic Β£3 million pro bono project that will make a real difference to children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Our team carried out the low-level brickwork for the new Rebound Centre, which will provide sensory facilities, a trampoline area, and accessible toilets, creating a space where children with complex needs can learn, play, and thrive.

As our contribution to this inspiring project, Cara supplied all materials, labour, and site supervision completely free of charge. It's a privilege to be involved in a project that will have such a positive impact on so many families for years to come.

A huge thank you to our Site Manager, Martin Hewitson, and bricklayers Chris Sedgwick and Emile Foster for their hard work and dedication in helping bring this incredible project to life.

We're honoured to have played a small part in something so meaningful. πŸ’™

πŸ’š We're taking on the Macmillan Mighty Hike! πŸ’š

On Saturday 18th July, the Cara team – Nick Mather, Joey Allen, Dave Crawley, Paddy Grady, Aibhinn Grady, Stefan Wieczorek and Alex Wieczorek – will be taking on the Peak District Mighty Hike to raise Β£750 for Macmillan Cancer Support

We're challenging ourselves because no one should have to face cancer alone.

Today, almost 3.5 million people in the UK are living with cancer, and that number continues to grow. Macmillan provides vital support from the moment of diagnosis and throughout every stage of a person's cancer journey, offering practical, emotional and financial help when it's needed most.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Macmillan continue to provide the care, compassion and expert support that so many people rely on.

If you'd like to support our team and help us reach our fundraising goal, please donate here:

πŸŽ‰ Welcome to the team! πŸŽ‰
We're delighted to welcome Lilly May to the team!

At just 16 years old, having recently finished school, she's joining us before starting college in September. She'll be looking after our social media, where she'll be sharing our latest brickwork projects, behind-the-scenes content, and company updates to keep you all up to date with what we're doing. She is based at the Salford Acoustics site for Morgan Sindall twice a week to get an insight on how sites work and in the main office once a week.

When asked why she wanted the role, she said she enjoys social media and thinks this is a great opportunity to gain experience and learn new skills. She's hardworking, resilient, and excited to get started.

Be sure to follow along as Lilly brings you more from behind the scenes and showcases the quality workmanship our team delivers every day.

Welcome to the team, Lilly! πŸ‘πŸ§±

πŸ‘Š Feel Good Friday!

A few of our first-year apprentices at have been putting their skills to the test and came up with this cracking bit of feature brickwork.

After Cara finished a job at Trafford Gardens for Linear Design & Construct, we had some green glazed bricks left over. Rather than seeing them go to waste, we dropped them off at the college and let the apprentices loose.

Safe to say they didn't disappoint.

They've put together four feature panels, including basketweave and herringbone bonds (both standard and angled), and the finish is top class. It's great to see them getting the chance to have a go at something different from the usual college work.

The future of the trade is looking bright if this is anything to go by. πŸ‘

Well done to all the apprentices involved – you've done a cracking job. Keep it up! 🧱πŸ’ͺ
