🏡💧🚨 Another emergency leak located & repaired for a lovely customer after a busy week. In & out in just over two hours. ✅

The property had a leaking 20mm black alkathene supply pipe which had become severed over time due to rubbing against the corner of the brickwork. And Thames Water could not locate the leak after they said they would do a good deed due to the external stop tap leaking. After doing our investigations & carefully exposing the damaged section, we carried out the repair, flushed the line and fully backfilled the excavation ready for reinstatement. ✅

Customer was absolutely over the moon once the water was restored with no further loss. and that’s what it’s all about for us. Doing good work for the community and helping people when they need it most. 👏💙 ✅

🏡💦 Leak Investigation, what’s under your bed? 🤯😂

Our engineers attended site to investigate an ongoing external water supply issue at a property in Derby. Following a full investigation, two exploratory excavations were carried out one within a makeshift bedroom area and another externally within the garden in an attempt to trace and locate the affected supply line.
Due to the condition and layout of the existing pipework and the way the house is laid out , the exact route of the supply could not be confidently identified during this visit. But we did notice 🐁 & nests & droppings, as seen in photos.
Our findings suggest the most practical and long term solution will be to install a full new water supply re route, taking the property off the shared supply and onto its own dedicated feed ✅ and also minimal destruction is what we want to aim for.
Proposed works will include
🔵 New dedicated water supply line
🔵 New point of entry (POE)
🔵 New internal stop tap installation
🔵 Reliable and future proofed supply to the property

Safe to say this one had a few surprises along the way… a manhole access in a makeshift bedroom wasn’t quite what we expected 👀 derby was the gift that kept giving that day ✅😂

🏡💦 Another lead replacement completed in Buxton all done through the wet weather.

The policy holder contacted us after noticing their front garden had become completely waterlogged, something they’d never experienced before. We treated the job as an emergency and brought it forward within 72 Hours to install a full new water supply ✅
🔵 Blue to blue replacement completed.
The cause of the supply pipe was a lead pipe that had corroded.

🏡💧Lead water supply replacement completed

Old lead supply pipe excavated and fully replaced with new blue MDPE pipework from external supply into the property. New internal connection installed, pressure restored, and system tested throughout before backfilling and reinstatement.

🏡💧Our engineers attended site at a Manchester mosque after the customer was hit with a massive £15,000 water bill. Yep. Straight away, it was obvious there was a serious underground leak somewhere across the huge area.

The old supply line is made up of around 120 metres of copper and galvanised steel pipework, with only a small section of blue MDPE at the boundary box. To narrow down where the leak was coming from, we had to cut and cap different sections of the line to isolate the problem area.

Our findings showed multiple leaks within the first cup & caps . Sometimes this is the only way to realistically track down leaks on old buried pipework. After that point, the pipe ran much deeper underground, making it harder and less cost effective to keep chasing repairs.

After a few meetings back and forth with the mosque, it was agreed that the best long term solution would be to install a completely new supply pipe. Not only will this stop the ongoing leaks, but it’ll also give them a much more reliable supply moving forward. So yes a straight run of 118m of new mdpe supply pipe will be installed.
