I’ve previously done this combination of sole swap on the 2006 Nike air st&b a few years ago. I liked them so much I sourced my own pair from and got to work.

Majority of shoes of this age/from this era have the same crumbling “cake” sole that disintegrates after first wear. Usually caused by hydrolysis and polymer breakdown after 20 years of storage or use.

We removed the remnants of the old sole and swapped in a Lite Run unit. Perfect for the UK weather and any terrain for another 20 years.

Also great for air max 90s and many other silhouettes. The polyurethane footbed is mad comfy. 😌

Would you try a resole? Do your rate this kind of hybrid? Let me know below

Milestone moment. Working at headquarters in Milan. Working alongside the talented, like minded creators and cobblers was exactly what I needed.

Free rein over the machines and resources and two whole days of pure crafts, bouncing ideas with all the amazing people sparked a new energy in me.

Carrying that energy into sneaker pharm. Starting with a build out of the front of the store. More to come.

Some cool things I saw Milano/ComoNew inspiration and energy on another level. Let’s build more.

Honoured and inspired to be invited to work in the lab a huge thank you to everyone involved and everyone

We were tasked to recreate and rework some vintage archive pieces from .rome for display at their exhibition space in Rome.

It was luck of the draw and i selected a pair of 2004 escape. The soles were Eva with a waffle outsole, peeled straight off without crumbling luckily.

The concept I went with was inspired by the name “escape” I thought of hiking/sailing and the feeling of exploration.

Taking elements from climbing, I added a suede rand to act as a lacing system, with a rope detail surrounding the whole mudguard of the shoe which also takes queues from sailing.

I replaced the sole with a rugged vibram unit with large lugs to add functionality in any terrain. The pop of yellow also keeps everything uniform but interesting.

The old tongue had a bellow feature but I upgraded it with goretex fabric, a nod to with a subtle pleats detail to contrast the utilitarian focus but also soften the upper.

Was over the moon that it placed joint first with in the secret panel competition at the end.

I was in great company with so many amazing creators from all around the world, all like minded and united by the same energy and focus and love for our work.

The possibility is truly endless.

Huge thank you and everyone else that made this week possible.

I look forward to the next one but in the meantime it’s all systems go with a new inspiration and insight. The Vibram section will be getting a make over in the store. Watch this space.

We have been invited to attend a unique workshop that bridges traditional craftsmanship with cutting edge innovation at the lab in Milan.

Along with 10 other creators, I’ll have access to the Labs creative team and state of the art machinery to reimagine and transform iconic footwear from an exclusive archive curated by .rome

“Excitement” is an understatement. This is an amazing opportunity for me to work alongside the designers, creators and expert team at whom for me represent the future of footwear and circularity.

March/April - it’s been a quiet period for drops so it’s naturally a time to reflect, plan and strategise.

We visited the factory to take a closer look at the manufacturing process and got an insight into repairs.

I spoke at the MMU school of art. Holding a talk and individual workshops with the textile students at .tip I helped bring a footwear and problem solving design lens to their discipline. Really inspiring and interesting to see the range of skills everyone had developed. The technology was also fun.

Reflection - it’s our third year at our flagship and it’s definitely not gotten easier or less stressful with the overheads but there’s something to be said about being able to carry on for three years as independent.

Nobody gets to see the sacrifice, stress or hard work that goes into what i do to keep the business afloat and to develop my skills.

But I do and I’m proud of that.

I’m proud of what I’ve achieved so far. I’ve got a few things in the works and interesting trips around the corner so I look forward to sharing those with you but in the meantime I could really do with your support.

I’ve been building a loyalty system in the background and look to roll that out soon. Ive made a lot of friends doing this throughout the years and it’s time to acknowledge that.

Chanel mesh runners and decal restoration.

Custom cut vinyl and heat set to leather. An effective way of branding be it time consuming.

Be honest is it the brand that sells the products to you or are you construction and material quality led?
