The Cure and Lewis Capaldi headlined Live over the weekend, performing to sold-out crowds 🎵

More than 70,000 people attended across the two days, with only five arrests made, mainly for alcohol-related offences.

Live Facial Recognition (LFR) was deployed as part of our policing operation and no arrests were made as a result.

Chief Superintendent Danny O'Neil said: "There was some traffic disruption around the event. We would like to thank attendees, residents and motorists for their patience and encourage people to plan their journeys in advance when travelling in the area to avoid disruption.

"There are planned road closures near to the event, so please check in advance when picking people up. There is a designated pickup location of Tesco Baguley, Altrincham Road, M23 9TJ".

Travel info: anyone picking up friends or family from Live from Wythenshawe Park this evening, please use our dedicated Pick Up & Drop Off Point at Tesco Baguely, M23 9TJ, on Altrincham Road, use Junction 3a from the M56/Princess Parkway.

Please note the Northenden junction of the Princess Parkway next to the Britannia Hotel, serving Wythenshawe Road and Palatine Road will be closed from 21:30 - 23:30.

| Officers from our South Manchester Neighbourhood tasking team won a game of hide and seek after they arrested a wanted man in today 🚨

The man was arrested for domestic-related aggravated burglary involving the use of a knife and affray involving the use of a knife and other weapons in a public place.

Ahead of Live From Wythenshawe Park, our specially trained officers have been conducting patrols in and around the park. During these deployments, officers engage with local businesses, members of the public, and those involved in the events to help increase vigilance. This gives us extra eyes and ears in the area to help identify and report any suspicious activity.

If you are attending any of the events over the coming weekends, have fun and enjoy yourselves, but please look out for one another and report anything that does not feel right to security staff or a police officer.

officers have been deployed across Wythenshawe and Salford today, carrying out vehicle checkpoints.

Two vehicles have been seized after their drivers were suspected of driving without valid insurance.

One of these drivers attempted to avoid detection by providing details that would have made him 18 years older than he actually was. Unfortunately for him, our officers aren't easily fooled and after taking one look at him weren't buying it. After further checks, he admitted providing false details. The male was also drug tested and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving whilst over the drug-drive limit.

These vehicle checkpoints help keep people on and around our roads safe. They also provide opportunities to disrupt a wide range of criminal activity, including terrorism.

If you see something that doesn't feel right, play your part by reporting it.
