We recently revisited Flaxyard in Peckham, where we assisted Bouygues UK in developing and delivering 120 new low-carbon apartments for social rent in the London Borough of Southwark.
Part of Southwark Council’s programme to deliver 11,000 new council homes by 2043, the scheme transforms an underutilised site into a high-quality residential development that responds to local housing needs. The project provides 120 affordable homes designed to Lifetime Homes standards, including wheelchair-accessible accommodation, helping to create an inclusive and sustainable community for residents.
Beyond the homes themselves, the development contributes to the ongoing regeneration of the area through improvements to the public realm and a design strategy that supports future development opportunities nearby. Sustainability is embedded within the scheme, with Air Source Heat Pump technology providing an efficient low-carbon heating solution for all homes and helping to reduce operational carbon emissions.
