Our team was working on an office building right in the center of Nottingham, when something didn't look right ⚠️⛔️😳
The complex of high street banks, shops and offices, appeared all to be incorrectly connected with no designated main earth to the building ‼️
After further investigation and contacting National Grid we found our suspicions were correct, something that had been missed by handfuls of electricians that had worked there in the previous 40 plus years! 😳❗️
We then proceeded to provide new 70mm earthing from the HV transformer to each of the 3 supplys, then 9 x 16mm earth cables to the cut outs on each floor from the Bemco unit sited in the basement.
Working along side National Grid on the transformer connections we where able to get this premises correctly connected.
After testing the new supply's and checking all bonding was present and correct, the installation was now safe and sound. ✅️
This highlights the importance of periodic testing using knowledgeable engineers to highlight issue's an to make sure your installation complies!
