Thats the first cottage completely reeded and lathed up … a small amount of tidying then we are onto the haired course stuff.

As you can see from the image, creating Reed ceilings and walls is quite time consuming and fiddly work… however, great progress again boys!!!

We are starting an interesting project in Northamptonshire for our good friends at Croft conservation . Two listed cottages , sadly gutted by a large thatch fire require complete reed ceiling and stud reinstatement, followed by a full lime plaster.

Yes , it’s lime and yes, it’s 100% flat, level and smooth.
