We’re really pleased for our client who has today received planning permission for their replacement dwelling in Lewes District (LW/23/0452).

The application was part of an overall strategy for the site which first involved securing a certificate of lawfulness for an unauthorised residential use. The new home with 3 large bedrooms and linked garage represents a significant improvement from the existing 1 bed accommodation on the site.

Importantly, the Council agreed that the replacement dwelling policy applied when repurposing (not demolishing) the original dwelling for a different use - in this case a holiday let (Use Class C1).
