What?! ❄️ Winter jobs… in August?! 🤯

The prolonged dry weather has turned lush green lawns into crispy deserts 🌵☀️, so we’re swapping the lawnmower for hedgetrimmers and fence paint for all those jobs usually saved for the colder months!

We’re certainly not complaining… but we’d quite like a little rain now, please! 🌦️😅

We are incredibly grateful to have had hedgehogs living in our garden for the past 18 months. This summer has been all about the nightly visits from a mum and her two hoglets. We are completely obsessed! 😍🦔

The prolonged dry weather is putting our wildlife at risk. The ground has become too hard to dig, insects, slugs and snails are scarce, and seeds and berries are few and far between. Nursing mums are becoming dehydrated, young animals are struggling to find enough food, and wildlife is taking unfamiliar routes across roads and into our gardens in search of whatever they can find.

One of the kindest things we can do this summer is to leave a shallow bowl of fresh water in a shady spot for our thirsty garden visitors. It takes just a moment but could make a real difference. 💦❤️
