A fresh lighting upgrade to this bedroom ⚡️💡

Installation of two new bedside lights with 2 way switching, allowing both lights to be switched on and off from either side of the bed.

2 way switching was also installed for the main ceiling spotlights, giving control from both the bedroom entrance and beside the bed, perfect for switching the lights off without having to get back out of bed!

An external IP rated double socket was also installed, providing a safe and convenient power supply outside the property.

A few practical upgrades to improve both the functionality and convenience of the home. ⚡️

⚡️ Saturday Job Complete ⚡️

Another job ticked off the list, and this one was certainly a warm one! 🥵☀️

We replaced the existing split-load RCD consumer unit with a new board, giving each circuit individual RCBO protection, along with SPD protection. (Forgot to take pictures!!!)

We also installed a new sub-main consumer unit in the carport, supplying:

🔌 4 sockets
💡 6 lights
🚗⚡️ EV charging point

A huge amount of hard work went into this installation, especially working through the heat!

A massive thank you to Tom for all his hard work on this one. It was a big job and having the extra pair of hands made a huge difference. 👏

Another installation completed, fully tested and left safe, tidy and ready to use.

Another recent job completed 🔧💡

I installed new external lighting combined with PIR sensors to help boost security around the property. It’s also a great way to light up the driveway and garden, giving you better visibility and peace of mind at night.

Inside, I fitted new downlights in the kitchen to give it a clean, modern finish, along with new lighting in the dining room — which is currently in the middle of being redecorated and already starting to come together nicely.

Social media’s been a bit quiet lately—but that’s because I’ve been flat out on the ground carrying out 20+ EICRs (Electrical Installation Condition Reports) over the past few weeks 🔍⚡

It’s not the most exciting content to post, but it’s essential work. I’ve been completing these for high street estate agents, private landlords, and homeowners—making sure installations are safe and up to standard.

It’s so important to have your electrics inspected by a qualified electrician who is NAPIT or NICEIC registered. Just because something works doesn’t mean it’s safe. For example, your system needs to trip within the required time in the event of a fault to properly protect you and your property.

After a short break away next weekend, I’ll be straight back into it with kitchen refurbishments and external lighting upgrades 💡🏡 so keep an eye out for some upcoming posts!

Another great job completed upgrading a new bathroom 🔧🚿

I worked alongside Soldex Aqua Solutions who carried out the full bathroom refit and it’s come out looking spot on 👌

On my side I installed a new bathroom extractor fan with a timer allowing it to continue running after use to help clear moisture and prevent damp. I also fitted two new light fittings including a spotlight positioned above the shower for better visibility and a clean finish.

Really pleased with how this one turned out 🔥

March has been one of if not the busiest months I’ve had to date. It’s been that full-on that I’ve had to put social media on the back burner just to keep on top of the workload and paperwork!

Today started with an EICR on a rented property in Yeovil for an estate agent. The report came back as unsatisfactory, but all remedial works have been quoted for and are now booked in to get everything up to standard.

After that, it was straight on to a few smaller jobs replacing an induction hob, tracking down and rectifying a lighting circuit that kept tripping whenever the living room lights were used, and swapping out a bedroom light fitting.

One of the highlights of the day though… the customer making me a tea and a slice of cake always goes a long way and definitely doesn’t go unnoticed 🍰😃

Finished up with a quick trip to the wholesalers on the way home to grab materials ready for the rest of the week.

Back at it again tomorrow ⚡️

Security & Workshop Power Installation Completed ⚡

Ive recently installed 2x 50W LED floodlights with integrated PIR sensors, giving the customer strong, energy-efficient security lighting that only activates when movement is detected. This setup improves visibility, improves site security, and keeps energy usage down.

I also installed a rotary isolator to safely supply a LAUNCH Vehicle Lift, ensuring there is a secure and compliant means of isolation for maintenance and emergency situations.

💡 Lighting Upgrade for an Upholstery Studio 💡

I recently installed 8 new dimmable tilt downlights in an upholstery studio, giving the space a big improvement in both functionality and atmosphere.

The tilt feature works especially well with a vaulted ceiling, allowing the lights to be angled so they properly illuminate work areas and benches, rather than shining straight down. This makes a huge difference in spaces where accurate, directional lighting is essential for detailed upholstery work.

With dimming control, the studio can now switch between bright task lighting and a softer ambient setting, depending on the job or time of day.

A simple upgrade that makes a big difference to how the space looks and works! 🔧✨

🔧 Recent Installation – Shed Lighting & Power Upgrade 💡

I’ve recently completed a new lighting and power installation for a garden shed and surrounding outdoor areas. This setup was designed to improve visibility, security, and provide practical power while landscaping work continues.

✅ Work carried out:
• 2 × new LED floodlights with PIR detection
– One lighting up the garden pathway
– One covering the driveway for added security
• 1 × new 5ft LED fitting installed inside the shed for bright, efficient lighting
• Temporary external socket installed in the garden to provide power during ongoing landscaping works

A great upgrade for both safety and convenience, especially during darker evenings 🌙

🔌 Saturday Morning Job 🔧

Installed an additional socket, wired from an existing socket in a neighbouring room. Some precise drilling was needed to keep everything neat with all cables fully hidden and no surface trunking required.

Using a metre long drill bit drilled at an angle, I was able to run the cable into the space under the staircase, clip it neatly around and bring it back out the other side. The socket was then installed flush to the wall for a clean tidy finish.

🔧 I also carried out works to diagnose and repair faulty external sockets, getting them fully operational again.

🌧️💡 To finish off, I braved the rain to carry out alterations to the external lighting, relocating the wiring and fitting a new 10W PIR floodlight on an angled bracket for improved coverage and efficiency.
