🏡🚚 WHAT ARE WE SEEING IN THE MOVING MARKET RIGHT NOW?

There’s plenty being said about the housing market at the moment but what are we actually seeing from the removals side as summer comes to an end?

One thing is certain… people are still moving!
What we are noticing is just how quickly things can change.

🏡 Moving dates taking longer to be confirmed
🔑 Exchange happening increasingly close to moving day
💷 In some cases, exchange and completion happening on the same day
📅 Proposed dates changing as chains progress

🚚 And then suddenly… it’s all systems go!

Our advice if you’re hoping to move during September or October?

Start planning your removal before you exchange.

Get your quotations, understand what’s involved and check availability with your preferred removal company.

You don’t necessarily need to have your completion date confirmed before starting those conversations and being prepared can make those final few weeks considerably less stressful.

📞 And once you have a proposed moving date, keep your removal company in the loop.
The final 14 days are particularly important. By around 6–7 days before your proposed move, we strongly recommend getting a realistic update from your solicitor on how likely the date is to proceed, even if exchange hasn’t happened yet.

If things are looking unlikely, knowing a little earlier gives us more time to work with you, look at alternative availability and rearrange your moving date where needed, rather than everyone trying to reorganise plans at the very last minute.

🚚💨 TEAM TTR… WHAT A WEEK SO FAR! 🏡

Wednesday is here and it’s already been a busy week for Team TTR!

So far this week, we’ve had the pleasure of helping two lovely couples into their new homes, with both moves bringing something a little different 💙

Alex’s move kept us local, relocating from a 3-bedroom home in Wingerworth to another 3-bedroom home just down the road.

Mighty Bruce & Max 🚚 were on duty, with Owen, Kev, Alan, Matt & myself taking care of everything from the household contents and garden furniture to dismantling and reassembling a double slate bed.

Thankfully, there were plenty of teas and coffees to keep everyone going! ☕😄

Then it was over to Littleover for Penelope & Steven’s move to their new 3-bedroom home in Ashbourne 🪴💨

This one was a little more emotional. After making so many memories in their previous home, it was time to say goodbye and begin a brand-new chapter.

Shirley, Mighty Bruce & Nellie headed out with myself, Owen, Craig & Jay two storage beds to dismantle and reassemble, a whole house to relocate and, quite possibly, enough Lego to keep us busy until Christmas! 🧱😂

And the team were very well looked after with teas, coffees and cold cans of pop along the way🥤☕

Moving home isn’t just about getting belongings from A to B.

It’s saying goodbye to somewhere that’s been home, taking all those memories with you and getting the keys to somewhere completely new 🔑🏡

We’re very grateful to have been trusted with both moves.

🛣️ From Derbyshire To North Wales… TTR ON THE MOVE! 🛣️

Hi everyone! 😁

How is it nearly the end of the week already?! With just one more day of moves to go, we’re pretty sure the team are looking forward to putting their feet up this weekend!

And our newest girl Nellie has certainly been clocking up the miles since joining the TTR fleet! 🚚✨

AMBERGATE → MORFA NEFYN, NORTH WALES

Last Friday saw us begin a two-day Owner Pack relocation for the lovely David & Rachael, moving from their 3-bedroom Derbyshire home to their new 3-bedroom home on the beautiful Welsh coast.

Day One saw our four-man crew carefully and professionally load the entire contents of their home, garden and shed into Nellie & Mighty Bruce 🚚🚚, alongside dismantling two beds ready for the journey.

Then came an early start for Day Two! ⏰

The team were on the road from 7am, beginning the 160+ mile journey north passing Manchester and Chester before heading along the scenic North Wales coast through Colwyn Bay and on towards Morfa Nefyn. 🏔️🌊

Around a 320-mile round trip, two fully loaded vehicles, four crew members and one complete household later… everything was safely transitioned, the beds dismantled & reassembled and another long-distance relocation completed as smooth as silk! 💪💙💛

But North Wales certainly wasn’t our only move this week…

🏡 DENBY VILLAGE → HOLBROOK, BELPER

We also had the pleasure of relocating the lovely Michael & Pip from their four-bedroom home in Denby Village to their new three-bedroom home in Holbrook.

And this one called for the full TTR fleet!

With a daybed, metal double bed and single bed all requiring dismantling and reassembly, plus the rest of their household belongings to carefully relocate, it was another busy one but everything flowed brilliantly from start to finish.

And we certainly have to give Michael & Pip a special mention for the steady supply of teas, coffees and biscuits! ☕🍪😂 Always VERY much appreciated by a removals crew!

Just a little snapshot of a few of this week’s relocations, with plenty more going on behind the scenes.

Tomorrow we’ll be rounding off another stellar week in Wingerworth before the vans and hopefully the team! get a well-earned rest 🙌

✨🚚 THERE’S A NEW GIRL IN TOWN… MEET NELLIE! 🚚✨

The newest addition to Team TTR and she’s already been put straight to work! 💪

With an XL box body and an impressive 7ft internal height, Nellie gives us even more loading space for the larger relocations we’re increasingly undertaking.

And she’s certainly had a busy introduction… with her first long-distance journey today, that took her all the way to Wales, covering 378 miles alongside Mighty Bruce! 💪🚚🚚

As TTR continues to grow, we’re seeing more clients choosing us for larger household moves, long-distance relocations and moves requiring multiple vehicles and bigger teams.

Nellie now joins the rest of our fleet, giving us even more capacity and flexibility - whether that’s allocating several vehicles to one larger relocation or, where our diary allows, helping more than one client in a day 💙💛

🚛🏠8 CLIENTS • 5 DAYS • ANOTHER FULL-ON WEEK! 🏠🚛

Another Sunday rolls around and another fantastic, incredibly busy week is complete for our teams!

Over the last 5 days, we’ve had the pleasure of assisting 8 different clients — from local 3-bedroom moves to much larger multi-vehicle relocations. Plenty of planning, lifting, boxes and miles along the way! 💪

Here are just a few highlights…

🏡 EMMA & FAMILY | SNELSTON → MARSTON MONTGOMERY

Now this was a relocation to remember!

Moving from an incredible Derbyshire Dales farmhouse comprising the main house, annexe, barn and additional living accommodation , an impressive 9 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, there was certainly plenty to move!

First came the full pack on the main house…

📦 Over 250 boxes packed!

Day One saw Louisa, Jamie, Alan, Stuart and myself carefully protect, wrap, box and label everything from delicate glassware and ornaments to sentimental possessions and everyday belongings.

Two king-size beds and a child’s cot were also dismantled, while we made sure the family’s beds, sofas, TV and kitchen essentials remained available for their final night 🛏️📺

Day Two brought 4 vans and 6 team members - Owen, Craig, Alan, Jamie, Matt and Simon - for the big relocation.

Four vans, 250+ boxes and a LOT of furniture… essentially one enormous game of removals Tetris! 😂

Everything was carefully loaded, blanket-wrapped and secured before the short journey to the family’s new four-bedroom home in Marston Montgomery.

And we can’t mention this move without mentioning the hospitality…
Breakfast, sandwiches, pizzas, fish & chips, cold drinks, teas and coffees — the team were absolutely spoilt! 🙌🍕🍟☕

Emma Katherine Mills-Wallace and family, you officially win our TTR Moving-Day Hospitality Award! 🏆

Your kindness throughout both days was genuinely appreciated. Thank you for choosing us and making two extremely busy days such enjoyable ones. 💙💛

🏡 ALEX & FAMILY | BIRCHOVER → MIDDLETON-BY-WIRKSWORTH

A lovely local 3-bed to 3-bed relocation with 3 vans and a 5-man team of Craig, Matt, Kevin, Jamie and Simon.

Alongside the move, we disconnected and reconnected the washing machine and dismantled and rebuilt a king-size bed, another smooth move from start to finish. ✅ And in this continuing heat, the constant supply of cold drinks was VERY gratefully received! 😎🥤

🏡 BRENDA’S DOWNSIZE | DARLEY DALE

Friday saw Louisa, Myself ,Jamie and Stuart help Brenda downsize from her lovely four-bedroom home into an equally lovely newer three-bedroom property.

Two slate beds were dismantled and rebuilt, the dining table dismantled and reassembled, and another lovely local move was completed👌🏡

Friday also marked a further milestone for the TTR journey…

✨🚚 Our newest addition to the fleet had her VERY FIRST outing! 🚚✨
And it certainly didn’t take long to put her to work! 😂 We’ll introduce her properly very soon… 👀💙💛

One of our favourite sights on moving day is seeing our clients able to sit back and relax while we get on with the hard work.

We can’t control solicitors, key releases or everything that comes with moving house - but we CAN provide a great experience, reassurance, smiles and a team you can trust to make the physical move as smooth as possible.

🚛🌳FROM DERBYSHIRE TO CAMBRIDGE, THE LAKE DISTRICT & BEYOND… TEAM TTR HAVE BEEN BUSY! 🛣️🏡

It’s been another action-packed run of relocations for the teams, with the vans heading in just about every direction! 😁

From local moves right here in Derbyshire to large-scale, multi-van relocations hundreds of miles away, here’s a little snapshot of what we’ve been up to recently…

🏡 Vanessa - Glossop ➡️ Wisbech
A big move from a five-bedroom home to a four-bedroom property, requiring Four vans and Six of our team, Myself, Craig, Owen, Alan, Kev and Jamie, to get everything safely relocated.

🚛 Paul - Another busy relocation completed with two vans and four team members , Matt, Jamie, Owen and Craig all working together to keep everything running smoothly.

📦 Jessica & Gill - Halifax ➡️ Windermere
This one was a full packing and long-distance relocation over three days!

Our team completed the full pack, including dismantling two beds and carefully preparing a dining table, before loading two vans ready for the journey north.

After an overnight stop, it was on to beautiful Windermere for unloading and getting everything safely into their new home 🏡✨

And we were certainly well looked after along the way… bacon cobs, sausage rolls, teas and coffees to name just a few! 😋☕ A huge thank you, always very much appreciated by a hardworking removals team!

💙 Age UK - Ashbourne ➡️ Matlock
A smaller local relocation this time, completed with one van and two crew, Owen and Craig

🚚 Joanne - Cambridge ➡️ Belper
While Alan and Kevin headed south, with one van travelling to Cambridge to collect and relocate everything carefully back to Belper.

Busy… is definitely an understatement! 💪

It’s been a few days since our last post, but that’s simply because we’ve been doing what we love most… helping more wonderful clients move into their next chapter 💙💛

I’m currently in Kendal on a three-day long-distance relocation to Cumbria, and with a six-day working week ahead, it’s full steam ahead for Team TTR! 🚛

Firstly, a huge thank you to every single client who chooses us, everyone who recommends us to friends and family, and all of you who continue to follow our journey. Your support genuinely means the world to our family business 🙌

2026 has been a great year already. Alongside helping more clients than ever before, we’re continuing to improve our systems, streamline every aspect of the business, grow the TTR brand and… who knows… there may even be something exciting on the horizon in the future 👀

But enough about us… here’s just a snapshot of what the team has been up to recently…

🏡 Sandra & Allen
A lovely relocation from Lancaster to Belper. Three vans, six team members and a seamless move from one two-bedroom home to another, including dismantling and reassembling both a bunk bed and double bed, along with garage, shed and garden items. Thank you both for the endless brews and biscuits that kept everyone smiling!

🏡 Phoebe & Elliott
A fantastic move from Sheffield to Chesterfield between two three-bedroom homes. With our Full Home Removal Service, we carefully relocated everything from inside and outside the property. It was certainly a warm one, so the team’s supply of cold drinks was very much appreciated!

🚚 Mark
Whilst another crew were tackling larger house moves, Craig and Matt took little brother Max over to Lincolnshire with Mark’s larger household items. Another happy client, another van packed with a little bit of that famous “Tetris” magic! 😄

📦 Wilma & Tony
A brilliant couple who certainly looked after the team during their move from Etwall to Stretton. Cakes, biscuits, hot drinks, cold drinks… we were all thoroughly spoilt! Thank you both for your kindness and hospitality.

♻️ A Day of Variety
Whilst one team completed removals, Owen and Craig completed three different jobs in one day - furniture deliveries, an out-of-storage relocation, followed by a household clearance, with everything responsibly disposed of at the licensed waste facility.

🌄 Frank & Tara
Returning clients are always special to us. We first relocated Frank & Tara to Windermere back in 2024, and this time we were honoured to help bring them back to Derbyshire. It was another fantastic two-day long-distance relocation and, of course, a pleasure to see those beautiful Lake District views again!

🏡 Linda
Whilst another team was up north, Owen, Jamie, Craig and Kevin were helping Linda relocate from Ilkeston to Ashbourne, delivering another smooth and successful moving day.

✅ Multiple teams.
✅ Multiple locations.
✅ Nine successful client relocations in just one week.

None of this would be possible without our brilliant team, whose hard work, professionalism and care make every move happen, whatever the weather and wherever the destination.

🚛 Four Fantastic Moves, Three Busy Days All Wrapped Up! 🏡✨

It’s certainly full steam ahead here at TTR, with another brilliant week of us helping wonderful clients begin their next chapters! 💙💛

Over three busy days, our teams completed four fantastic home moves across Borrowash, Leeds, Clowne, Walton, Chesterfield, Belper and Horsley Woodhouse and what a great few days they were!

First, we relocated the lovely Mandy and Rob from their three-bedroom home in Borrowash to their new three-bedroom property in Leeds.

With two vans and a fantastic team of Matt, Craig, Owen and George, the move included the dismantling and reassembly of one double bed and went seamlessly from start to finish. Mandy and Rob thanked the team on the day and later sent us a lovely message to say how pleased they were with how smoothly everything had gone 🙌

Thank you both for your wonderful hospitality-the team really appreciated it! ☕😁

While one team was heading north to Leeds, myself, Jamie, Martin and Kevin were over in Clowne assisting the lovely Valerie with her two-bedroom bungalow move.

Her move included garden furniture, several planters and a divan bed, with no real dismantling or reassembly required. There were also plenty of cuppas on offer to keep the team going! 🪴☕

The following two days saw us assist Karen, followed by Andy and Kelsey, with their three-bedroom home moves.

Karen relocated from Walton to Ashgate in Chesterfield, with three vans and a five-person team consisting of Owen, Craig, Jamie, Matt and myself. Her move included the dismantling and reassembly of one double storage bed and everything was completed successfully.

We then helped Andy and Kelsey relocate from Belper to their new home in Horsley Woodhouse. Alongside the contents of their three-bedroom property, they also had belongings stored in a nearby 20 sq. ft. storage container that needed returning to their new home.

While Matt and I collected everything from storage, the rest of the team continued with the main removal- great teamwork making sure everything kept moving efficiently! 💪🚛

Once again, we were treated to such wonderful hospitality throughout these moves. A huge thank you to all four clients for choosing and trusting TTR with your relocations. We wish you all so much happiness in your lovely new homes! 🏡✨

And there’s no slowing down just yet…

Tomorrow, one TTR team is heading to Windermere Cumbria, while another travels to Ilkeston, completing two separate removals on the same day and helping even more wonderful clients begin their next chapters!
