I have always had a passion for plants, wildlife, nature and gardening and spent 15 years working as a professional gardener/plants woman with a focus on creating beautiful gardens and planting schemes that not only looked good but were beneficial to all forms of wildlife, from tiny insects to bees, butterflies, birds and mammals. The gardening gifts in my shop are either handmade, upcycled, recyc

led, recyclable, biodegradeable or ethically sourced with an emphasis on being practical and useful, as well as decorative gifts, that are ideal for birthdays, Christmas, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, thank you gifts or as a treat for yourself. Is your garden looking a little worse for wear after the hot summer and in need of an autumn tidy up?

Do your borders require some tlc and maybe a makeover?

Looking for help or inspiration to create some beautiful flower beds and borders with plants that will work in your garden?

I am a female gardener/horticulturalist with over 20 years professional experience. 🌼🌼 ‘There's a flower that shall be mine, 'Tis the little Celandine’ - William Wordsworth, "To the Small Celandine" 🌼🌼

Ficaria verna (formerly Ranunculus ficaria) commonly known as lesser celandine or pilewort, is a low-growing, hairless perennial flowering plant in the buttercup family Ranunculaceae, native to Europe and Western Asia. It has fleshy dark green, heart-shaped leaves and distinctive flowers with yellow, glossy petals that can carpet an area between March and May. It can be rather an invasive plant, but by the summer it dies back and disappears completely. Several bees and this small tortoiseshell butterfly were certainly enjoying the celendines in the sunshine today. 🐝🦋

If are looking to increase the snowdrops in your garden, now is the time to lift and divide established clumps or purchaae them ‘in the green’. This is when snowdrops have been freshly lifted while in leaf and quite possibly still in flower. This is done because, providing they are transplanted quickly, they establish much more readily than snowdrop bulbs planted in the autumn.

The Snowdrop (Galanthua nivalis) is one of the early-flowering plants that heralds the welcome approach of springtime.

This dainty little herb has remarkably bright flowers that are whiter than snow and, as the plant's name tells us, each solitary flower drops to hang upside-down.

A member of the large Lily family, Snowdrop flowers are rich in nectar and are an important food source for early-flying insects such as hungry queen bumblebees emerging from hibernation and eager for a quick intake of sugar.

Plant snowdrops 'in the green' in February and March or as dry bulbs in October and November.
