Plants can hunt
There are certain plants that hunt. These plants are;
🌱 Venus Flytrap - The leaves of the Venus flytrap snaps shut if its tiny hairs are brushed twice by an unsuspecting bug.
🌱 Butterwort - Butterworth bristles have gluey hairs that snag insects until the plants digestive juices do their work.
🌱 Trigger Plant - The glandular trichinae’s that cover the scale and flower can trap, kill and digest small insects with protease enzymes produced by the plant.
🌱 Portuguese Sundew - This plant trap prey in the sticky hairs on their leaves.
🌱 Tropical Pitcher - This plant captures its prey with a pitfall trap that relies on a micro-structured, slippery surface.
🌱 Cobra Lily - Bugs get confused by the translucent windows in the plant’s leaves. They think they’re escaping, but they’re really flying deeper inside.
🌱 Moccasin - Uses its sweet scent to attract its prey. The prey is then trapped in the moccasin shaped pitchers and they are digested slowly.
🌱 Brocchinia reducta - This plant has long, slender pitchers that reflect ultraviolet light. Its sweet scent is used to attract its prey and take them down.
