The Flint House is located in North Hertfordshire, nestled in the beautiful Chiltern Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The design of the house carefully considers the local landscape and fits well within its surroundings.

Using local materials gives the house a distinctive character. The rear of the home features large glass windows that provide stunning views of the countryside.

Inside, the house has a modern and inviting feel, with high-quality finishes throughout. It offers a mix of cozy spaces and a large open-plan living area, making it perfect for both quiet relaxation and entertaining friends and family.

Overall, the Flint House combines comfort and style while blending seamlessly with its natural setting.

Floors 1–3 of this central London bank that Tye Architects worked on recently, house open-plan banking teams, with enclosed offices for key departments and acoustic treatment integrated across every level. Breakout spaces and compact meeting rooms support modern, agile working. The top floor is reserved for the executive team and VIP clients, with a chairman’s office, six-person meeting room, and an expandable twelve-person boardroom.

The basement delivers high-security services including a vault, secure storage, and a flexible training space. Fire strategy, access control, and technical systems were embedded without compromising aesthetic quality.

Materials were selected for both durability and atmosphere, including Caesar Keymood tiles, bronze detailing, and leather-textured finishes. Acoustic ceiling rafts and timber slat panelling ensure ambient comfort. Subtle detailing — such as concealed AV systems and hidden risers — reinforces a quiet, confident identity throughout.

Sustainability was considered through low-VOC finishes, LED lighting, repurposed flooring, and recycled acoustic materials. Roof terraces were adapted as breakout zones, and workstation sizes were optimised to suit spatial constraints.

This is a workplace designed to reflect trust, discretion, and global identity. Without relying on spectacle, it delivers a cohesive environment where technical performance, user comfort, and refined design coexist — a confident and intelligent fit-out that supports both function and brand.

Guaranty Trust Bank (UK) Ltd’s new headquarters occupies six floors of a listed building in Fitzrovia, London, delivering a refined, secure, and high-performing interior that embodies the bank’s dual identity: proudly African and globally positioned. The project involved the complete fit-out of the building’s shell and core, previously delivered by another architect. Tye Architects were appointed to design and deliver all interior architecture, M&E coordination, specialist security systems, finishes, and furniture.

Working to a strict budget, the client required the building to accommodate 120 staff, integrate a high-security basement vault, and provide a premium retail banking hall, executive suites, and flexible workspaces — all with the dignity and professionalism expected of a central London financial institution.

The public-facing ground floor was designed as the institutional threshold, combining tactile materials with calm spatial composition. A reception, teller counters, lounge, and meeting rooms are set within a palette of smoked oak, abstract wall textures, and stone detailing. Dual entrances allow separation of staff and client flows without compromising security or openness.

Located in the tranquil beauty of rural southwest Devon, this site boasts stunning southern views across four acres.

The proposal embraces a paragraph 84e scheme, analyzing various entrance points and design styles. Inspired by local farmsteads, it features a modern interpretation with two first-floor balancing barns that connect through a spacious ground floor.

Designed on Passivhaus principles, it includes ground source heat pumps, MVHR air systemssolar panels, and high insulation for ultimate energy efficiency.

Nestled at the back of this historic grade 2 listed building, our aim was to expand family space while respecting its heritage.

We designed a transparent addition that preserves the charm of the 15th-century staircase and brickwork facing the garden.

With a sleek corten flat roof, triple-glazed sliding panels, and two rear courtyards, we ensured seamless integration between new and old.

These proposals are located adjacent to our clients’ existing significant and substantial barns which were converted many years ago. However, looking towards retirement and lifetime homes, the clients were looking for a single storey solution that would be modern, low maintenance and accessible living set within the grounds of the barns.

The proposals are a paragraph 84e solution which are inspired by the typology and ideology of a series of buildings which are leaf-like in form and plan and are interlinked with a series of glazed connections.

Extensive analysis was conducted with regards to the existing context; the local ash trees that have died back their leaves, and branch types, to make full use of the recognition of the lost trees.

The proposals are to Passivhaus standards with high levels of air tightness, insulation, air quality and sustainable heating systems.

Within the grounds of a strikingly elegant Grade II* listed Gothic manor house dating back to the 16th Century, the estate also had a series of modern 20th century educational buildings which were fire damaged.

Our proposals include the removal of the modern utilitarian educational buildings with the replacement being two dwellings which are more low lying with robust elegant materials and designed in a way that protects the original manor house in terms of major viewpoints and provides an enhancement to the conservation of the area.

This building is made from patternated copper which reflects the grass and ever green foliage in terms of the series of conifer trees that are within the site area and amplifies the green in the spring summer of the substantial deciduous trees that are in and around the site.

From the main driveway vista this low lying single storey building also sits against the backdrop of the rising distant hills and as such is ‘lost’ against these.

The building layout provides a series of courtyard spaces to the front and rear of the building providing enclosure and privacy to the dwelling.
