PORTH HARLEQUINS RFC
Grassroots Flood-lighting for Llwyncelyn Welfare Ground
The Club continue to progress their standards on and off the pitch. It has been well documented how poor the main field old floodlights have been since their initial installation in the early 1980s. However, today the club can confirm that with a new RCT lease, planning permission, and grant funding a brighter future is coming for winter training nights at the Welfare. The club wish to thank Rhondda Cynon Taff CBC for their continued support for the improvement of our rugby field and the Grant funding support received from The Welsh Rugby Union Facilities Grant and the Sport Wales ‘Be Active Wales Fund’ in providing all the funding for this ambitious project. We would also like to thank the contractors who have carried out the work – firstly ‘Kordel Civils and Building’ a local family run business based in Cardiff for the groundworks and the WRU approved ‘Floodlighting and Electrical Services’ based in Pontyclun for all their expertise in providing detail specifications and site work for installing the 4 columns and 8 LED lamps and cabling/fixing. All the Players, Committee and Supporters will be very impressed with the new lighting which will enable a much better and safer training sessions for all teams in the Porth Harlequins Club.
