Our Durham Lifting team were recently on site supporting vessel inspection works as part of an ongoing client programme.

Despite the cold conditions, we were there from first light, completing thorough examinations across a range of equipment including multiple davits, Palfinger cranes, and a Colibri offshore crane. All inspections were delivered efficiently within a single working day, minimising disruption while maintaining full compliance and safety assurance.

This work highlights the value of experienced engineers, clear planning, and a structured inspection process — especially when operating in live port and offshore environments. Whatever the weather, our team is there when you need them.

A great example of our Multisec Modular Spreader Beam in action on a challenging city lift in Speyer, Germany.

Configured to 50t WLL with an 11m effective working length, the beam was used to lift and install a pedestrian bridge over live railway tracks — an operation where accuracy and confidence in the lifting arrangement are essential.

The bridge was installed in four separate sections, two measuring 18 metres and two at 24 metres, with the modular setup allowing the load to be balanced and controlled throughout the lift despite the constraints of the urban environment.

Our team recently supplied, installed, and commissioned a Free Standing Cantilever I-Beam Jib Crane with electric chain hoist, designed to handle a 500kg safe working load with a 290° slewing range.

The project required a reinforced base plate and specialist anchor fixings to integrate with the existing concrete floor — ensuring strength, stability, and long-term reliability.

Last week, our team at Durham Lifting were out on the water supporting a vessel with the safe proof load testing of an onboard A-Frame.

With a WLL of 4000kg, the structure was tested to 4800kg using our specialist water bag system. This operation had to be carried out during a narrow high-tide window – meaning careful planning, reliable equipment, and skilled personnel were critical.
