Timber in the round makes for great design details too – think balconies, verandas, pergolas, hand rails, railings and much more. Used indoors or out, the natural shapes of the wood blend beautifully with both contemporary and traditional settings. Roundwood timbers are also ideal for creating sheds, barns, workshops and shelters that stand out from the crowd. Their natural shape means they never look out of place though no matter whether they’re sheltering animals in a field or passengers waiting for a bus. Add shakes to the roof and weave or cladding to the sides and you have a unique, sustainable structure that will serve its purpose for many, many years to come. He learned traditional timber framing techniques and construction skills as an apprentice to Ben Law, progressing to become first senior framer and then project manager. Dylan has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years and has focused on working with timber in the round and creating more sustainable buildings since 2006. His combination of traditional skills and modern construction industry standards enables Built by Artizans to work effectively either alongside a main contractor or as lead contractors in their own right.
