Some much needed love on this wobbly old specimen in porlock finished up this week. Started as a grind out and repoint/flaunch but ended up a rebuild with thanks to Tom from TW construction.
New lead flashings and a sort out of the unused pots while keeping things ventilated and future proof for a great customer of ours 🥳

Code 6 lead bay roof finished up today, continuous copper strip on all drip edges and fixed correctly with 25mm copper ring shank nails. Be nice to see it with the scaffolding out the way!

Another plain tiler over the line. Couldn’t have called this one much closer to the line! Every hip falling away in our hands and the typical smiling batons result of the nail rot. Stripped this one just by standing on it pretty much!

Code 5 lead hips to overcome a previously re tiled front elevation that didn’t match our practices. All fixed with copper ring shank nails and secret copper wind uplift straps.

Interesting looking chimney/verge detail sorted last week. Many components not helping the customer out on this one and many previous attempts to resolve issues, time to sort it properly.

New end rafters fitted and wall plate half lapped, cement verge with matching tiles and render mesh to improve lifespan. Matching bespoke barge board created to simplify for future matching adjacent verge replacement. Chimney removed to a level height, wall rebuilt and an air brick installed for airflow into chimney void and a code 5 lead flat roof to give it a timeless solution.

3 rather unique and interesting chimneys completed with code 5 leadwork last week. Centre chimney had really seen better days and was quite dangerous. Only used for an extractor vent so the decision was made to remove it, replacing with a much simpler vent pipe and flashing to suit.
Challenging but rewarding and a very happy customer with no more leaking!
