Cherry blossoms!
At Tree Shop, we love this time of year when the Cherry blossoms are out in full bloom! They bring warmth and comfort to gardens and parks foe everybody to enjoy! These magnificent Cherry blossoms attracted a huge crowd at the weekend.

Summary
The role of a customer service practitioner is to deliver high quality products and services to the customers of Tree Shop. Your core responsibility will be to provide a high-quality service to customers which will be delivered from the workplace, digitally, or through going out into the customer’s own locality.

Wage
£12,759.50 a year

Training course Customer service practitioner (level 2)
Hours 9am -3:30pm (Days to be confirmed)
32 hours 30 minutes a week

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience. Part of the apprenticeship will be training at Gloucester College

What you’ll do at work
Your duties will include:

Customer relationship management
First point of contact for customer enquiries
Liaising with suppliers
Maintaining accurate records including customer databases
Processing customer orders and invoices
Implementation
Horticultural/woodland forestry team: Seasonal (December – March) supporting outdoors with re-planting and moving of trees to customer locations
Scheduling and delivering products to customers
General Office Administration: Updating the company’s social media and website platforms
Any other duties as required

New Optimal Shelterbelt (OSB) planted!

Our team at www.Tree-Shop.co.uk has completed the planting of an OSB in the Cotswolds. We planted 2,250 trees over 800 metres in length. The 12 species included Scots Pine, Black Poplar, Hornbeam, Alder, Birch, Field Maple, Cherry, Rowan and Hawthorn.

Using our skills and expertise, we obtained grants and donations to cover the full cost of the tree planting to help this artisan cheesemaker and organic dairy farm. The site was on a windy and exposed Cotswold hill and after the trees grow, they will provide shelter for the animals and crops by creating a warm microclimate behind the trees.

Q:
Our garden is overlooked. What can you suggest to plant that would make a good screen and are evergreen?

A: We would recommend evergreens such as laurels, eucalyptus, yew, shrub honeysuckle, Photinia Red Robin, Strawberry tree.

Animals can take a liking to some trees and shrubs and can/will eat them.

Some examples of trees that deer and rabblts will avoid nibbling on are, Quickthorn, Blackthorn & Holly, this is becuase they have spikes or thorns on their trunk/bark and leaves. If you want to mix up the specimins and include field maple or beech you can, animals shouldnt stop this. Ensure once planted they are protected by using tree guards. We offer differant types of guards to protect against differant animals.

RIVER BIRCH TREE
The main feature of this small to medium sized spreading tree is its interesting peeling bark. This builds up on the stem and main branches in soft curling layers of pink, orange, grey and brown.

The other great advantage of this species is its tolerance of wet soil and seasonal flooding. It makes an ideal pond or river-side tree.

River Birch often develop multiple stems which increases the attractiveness of the shaggy bark. As an ornamental tree it also has bright green 10cm pointed, toothed leaves and long yellow clusters of catkins in early spring.

INDIAN HORSE CHESTNUT
A deciduous tall tree, more suitable to parkland, large estates or very large gardens which has a rounded habitiat. It bears panicles of soft pink flushed flowers in summer with bronze foliage, when young it will turn glossy and dark green before changing to orange and yellow in autumn. The trees deeply cut leaves make it the prettiest of the Chestnut family

ACER DRUMMONDII
A member of the norway maple family. Light green maple shaped leaf emerge and are edged with cream. It can be planted either side of garden entrance gate to create a welcoming approach to your house. Eventual height approx. 12 meters.
