~prevent pollution at source and as a minimum comply with all applicable legislation, regulations and other requirements to which we subscribe.
~continually improve environmental managment and performance through achieving annual environmental objectives
To achieve these commitments, we intergrate environmental issues and management into all our business activities, processes and desicisions. Specifically Sam Clark Garden Services shall:
~provide the option for planting native species and measures to enhance biodiversity at our customers sites including bee freindly plants, habitats to encourage garden pests natural predators, butterfly areas and wild meadow areas.
~monitor and measure our annual carbon foot print and minimise consumption of finate fossil fuels associated with transport, heating the business premises and generating electricity . this includes rout planning and clustering appointments when practical to minimise milage
~intergrate resource efficiancy into the purchasing process including using recycled materials where appropriate, timber certified to chain of custody forestry standards and low environmental impact office materials.
~ensure use of hazardous substances is minmised and promote pesticide free landscape design that incorporates planting and habitat design to encourage garden pests natural predators.
~ implement proactive maintenance for all landscape machinery , electrical and electronic equipment to ensure efficiancy and we operate a "switch off" policy for all lighting and and equipment when not being used.
~ensure waste is minimised, composted where applicable , recycled and disposed ofin lign with environmental legislation.
~minmise the environmental impact associated with office activities including minimising heat loss from our building and only printing out documents when necessary , in double sided ceco mode and on recycled paper.
~ annually review and update all aspects of environmental management and ensure adequete resources are made available to implement this environmental policy in full.
