Small restoration job completed this morning for a returning customer in Montrose.

The bottom sash of this bathroom window would not open properly, had a broken pane of glass and the cill was completely rotten.

✅ Cill cut out & replaced.

✅ Sash repaired & re-glazed.

✅ All new timber painted in to match.

✅ Sash reinstated with new sash cords and attached to the original weights.

✅ Sash now opening properly.

During the work we found a date marked on the inside of frame from 1914!

Garden gate made in hardwood, pre finished in raspberry red and finished with matt black ironmongery.

We were asked to have a section cut out of the bottom rail to allow the safe passage of hedgehogs! 🦔

* Work placement opportunity *

We are taking part in the “Get ready for work programme” through Angus council and this will give a young person the opportunity to gain experience in a realistic work setting.

The placement would be for 20 hours per week, for a period of 12 weeks.

Note that to qualify you must not currently be in education, training or employment (would suit a recent school leaver).

This would suit someone with a keen interest in woodwork and give them an insight into the daily operations in a joinery workshop.

The placement could potentially lead to further employment for the correct candidate.
