The September mags have landed and are heading out across the villages now! 💗

After weeks of dry, sunny weather, the rain has of course arrived just in time for distribution week... ☔

So, let’s share a little love for our brilliant distribution team, especially our younger distributors spending the final week of their summer break dodging puddles and downpours to get your magazine safely through the door. 💕

Keep an eye on your letterbox. And a big thank you to Charter Travel for bringing a fabulous dose of sunshine to our September cover! ☀️🌴

We’ll supply the wool and poppy patterns.

🌺 WANT TO TAKE PART?
Poppy kits will be available to collect between Monday and Thursdays between the hours of 10am and 2pm starting from Tuesday 1st September at Burghfield Village Hall or just drop us an email. We will also be announcing further collection points in due course.

Just like buses, you wait ages for a celestial spectacle... then three come along at once!

🌕 This week, we have a deep partial lunar eclipse in the early hours of Friday morning (28th), assuming the clouds don’t scupper the view.

For those happy to burn the midnight oil, around 93% of the Moon will pass into Earth’s darkest shadow, potentially giving much of it a striking coppery-red appearance. So, if the recent solar eclipse left you wanting a little more drama, this one may be worth setting the alarm for.

For the Reading area, the partial eclipse begins at 3.33am, reaching its maximum at 5.12am. The Moon will be getting increasingly low in the sky by then, so you’ll need a clear view towards the south-western horizon. And no special glasses are needed this time, you can view it safely with the naked eye.

Cloud and showers are currently in the forecast, so whether we actually get to see it may come down to a well-timed gap in the clouds. Before setting your alarm, it’s worth checking the latest forecast on the Met Office website.

And if you do manage to catch it, share your photos below! ✨
