Today we have Richard Blew MD of Needham Chalks, mainly known as Dicky B or Blewy according to which generation he is dealing with! Apparently an old timer but looks can be deceiving. 34 years in the business and he loves every day. Richard is FACTS qualified, and covers Essex and South Suffolk. Richard thrives on mega stress, being in a different place daily and meeting different folks daily. Fertiliser planning is his big turn on, it happens when you get older! 🤣 Outside of work he can be found fishing, fishing and fishing.
Always carries his gear in the truck just in case - would fish in a puddle if he had to! 🎣

Today we have Annelise Easton. FACTS and Foundation BASIS qualified, Annelise mainly covers the South Norfolk and North Suffolk area for lime and fertiliser sales. Annelise has been at Needham Chalks for nearly 10 years, and says the main aspects of her job she loves the most is being somewhere different every day, working outside and dealing with her lovely customers. In her spare time Annelise can be found with her multiple dogs and horses 🌾🚜☀️

With harvest fast approaching in East Anglia we thought it was time for a “Meet the Team”. 🌾🚜☀️

First up we have Katherine Ridley. This is her 5th year with Needham chalks covering Norfolk, Suffolk and North Essex. Her favourite aspects of the job are dealing with farmers, helping with their soil and fertiliser requirements and her love for being outdoors. Outside of work Katherine can be found playing various sports and in the shooting field.

Over 70 Years of Industry Expertise

Needham Chalks, now owned by Harlow Agricultural Merchants (HAM) Ltd, was established in 1947 at its current home in Needham Market.

Then, the chalk was dug by hand mainly for the agricultural sector as farmers looked to become more productive and the knowledge of soil properties improved.

With the backing of Harlow Agricultural Merchants (HAM), who bought the company in 2012, we continue to be the largest supplier of quarried chalk in our region and continue to expand into other sectors of the agricultural and industrial markets.

Needham Chalks (HAM) Ltd now sells over 100,000 tonnes of chalk for spreading to agricultural soils across East Anglia as well as for industrial purposes.
