They now know how to fix fringes, sidecords, splits, and cuts, insert new warps and wefts, reweave, and even reknot with Turkish and Persian knots.

This was the perfect first chance to trial our upcoming Sisal Stain Remover in a real-life scenario.

​Its only job was to get rid of that stubborn "tidemark" and did the rest.

​Because BPO strips colour rather than adding it, standard cleaning methods fail.
This week, we performed a complete colour restoration for a luxury property developer client in London.

​Using precise spot-dyeing with our WoolSafe Approved , we were able to perfectly match the surrounding colour tones, making the damage invisible and saving the client from replacing the entire room's flooring.

✨ Watermarks on Sisal Carpets ✨

“It’s just water, so it should be easy to remove… right?”

Not quite. While the spill may be just water, the stain is caused by the fibres’ reaction to it. When wet, sisal (and other cellulosic fibres) release a natural compound called lignin. This is what causes the staining, not the water.

Deep watermarks are among the most challenging stains to repair. Colour restoration here isn’t about removing water, but correcting the fibre’s chemical response to it.

Benzoyl peroxide (BPO) is a bleach.
Commonly found in two-part wood fillers (the hardening agent) and some acne and foot creams, it takes the colour out of certain fibres, with nylon being the most susceptible.
BPO takes the colour out, we put the colour back in.
