On 17 August, I shared a series of videos explaining what I believe sets Dymchurch Improvements apart — our knowledge, skills, trusted network, resources and, most importantly, our reputation.

Well, it seems someone else agrees!

I’m incredibly proud to announce that Dymchurch Improvements Limited has been named Residential Renovation Company of the Year in the South England Prestige Awards 2026/27.

I recently had the pleasure of attending the awards ceremony and collecting this fantastic award on behalf of everyone involved in the business.

Although my name may be on the company and I was the person fortunate enough to collect the award, this recognition belongs to our entire team. It reflects the hard work of our employees, trusted tradespeople, suppliers and professional partners who help us deliver projects throughout Kent and the South East.

Most importantly, it belongs to our customers. Thank you to everyone who has trusted us with their home, returned to us for another project, recommended us to friends and family or supported our business along the way.

We have always aimed to provide more than simply building work. We offer the knowledge, experience, project management and trusted network needed to take a renovation from the first idea through to completion.

To now be recognised as Residential Renovation Company of the Year 2026/27 is a very proud moment and a wonderful endorsement of everything we have worked to build since Dymchurch Improvements was established in 2020.

✨ ANOTHER BATHROOM TRANSFORMATION COMPLETED IN HYTHE ✨

We were delighted to return to the home of an existing customer, having previously completed their garage conversion and new shower room.

This time, the brief was to completely transform the main bathroom. We stripped the room back to the original brickwork before rebuilding it with new moisture-resistant plasterboard and creating a clean, modern finish.

The completed bathroom features:

🛁 A new bath with glass screen, rainfall shower and separate handset
✨ Decorative sparkle wall panelling
🪵 A striking slatted feature panel behind the vanity unit
🚰 A new vanity unit with basin and oval mirror
🚽 A complete new bathroom suite
🔥 Chrome heated towel rail
🗄️ Additional fitted storage
🪟 New window
🚪 New internal door
🏠 New flooring and freshly decorated finishes

The sparkle panels keep the room feeling bright and spacious, while the contrasting feature panel adds warmth and character behind the vanity.

🏡 Thinking about renovating your home?

At Dymchurch Improvements, we manage complete property renovations from structural alterations and room reconfigurations to kitchens, bathrooms, electrics, plastering, flooring and final decoration.

Here are just a few of our recent projects:

Littlestone:

We worked on a supporting wall at the rear of the house to facilitate new UPVC doors and windows. We removed the complete subfloor thought out half of the ground floor to allow for new joists, services, and boarding. We then refitted the complete area with new kitchen, ground floor WC area, tiling and decoration including all plumbing and electrics.

Camber:

This property underwent a complete top-to-bottom transformation. We removed the entire front of the house to install new bi-fold doors on the ground floor and a sliding door to the master bedroom. Inside, we fitted a new staircase leading to a mezzanine attic bedroom, installed a new kitchen, bathroom and shower room, and completed all flooring and decoration throughout.

Hythe:

This Victorian property had previously been divided into two separate flats. We brought the two properties back together to create one complete family home. The works included replacing damaged and damp ground-floor subfloors, plastering throughout, a full electrical rewire, new uPVC double glazing, new flooring and complete decoration. We also installed a new kitchen, shower room, cloakroom and utility room.

🚿 From a Difficult Bathroom to a Safe, Accessible Wet Room 🚿

Sometimes, a bathroom renovation is about much more than updating how a room looks.

Our customer in Greatstone had been struggling for far too long with an outdated bathroom and the daily challenge of getting in and out of the bath. It had become increasingly difficult to use safely, so they asked us to create a solution that would give them back their independence.

The result is a bright, modern, VAT-free accessible wet room that’s designed to be practical, safe and easy to maintain for years to come.

As part of the project, we:

• Completely stripped the room back to its shell
• Upgraded and modified the electrical and plumbing services
• Installed floor-to-ceiling waterproof wall panelling
• Fitted new recessed LED downlights and an upgraded extractor fan
• Installed a level-access shower, new WC, basin and heated towel rail
• Created a seamless, slip-resistant wet room floor for safe and easy access

The improvements didn’t stop there. Throughout the property we also:

• Installed four new internal doors
• Upgraded the heating system
• Fitted a new shower pump to improve water pressure and performance

Seeing the difference between these two rooms reminds us why we love what we do. This isn’t just a new bathroom it’s a room that will make everyday life easier, safer and more comfortable for our customer.
