Replacement of an old ½” black Alkathene water supply pipe that had developed a leak. 💧

Using impact moling, we were able to install a new 25mm MDPE water supply pipe in its place, keeping excavation and disruption to a minimum.

The customer watching on to see if we could get the mole right in the centre of the receiving hole… 🕳️🤞🏻🎯

Emergency Water Supply Pipe Repair 💧🔧

Today we helped an elderly customer who had unfortunately been without a reliable water supply for the past 24 hours.

They had been trying their best to repair the leak themselves, but due to the poor condition of the existing pipework and failed fittings on the old 3/4” iron water supply pipe, a more permanent repair was needed.

We removed the old, deteriorated joints and damaged sections before installing PLASSON Plass4 Universal Coupling onto the existing 3/4” iron supply, along with a new section of 25mm MDPE water pipe.

Everything was tested and the customer is now back up and running with clean running water. 💧✅

A great result and, most importantly, some peace of mind for the customer after a very stressful 24 hours.

Old pipework out. Reliable repair in. Water back on. 🔧💧

Another job underway for A.P.C Water Engineers 💧🔧

Another successful repair completed today at Canterbury Cathedral.

Our team attended a visible water leak and, following excavation, identified two separate issues: a leak on an old soldered joint to the existing 15mm copper supply pipe, along with a second leak from an existing ½” lead tee piece.

We removed the defective tee piece, connected directly into the existing boundary box, replaced the old stopcock within the excavation, and installed a new boundary box.

Once all repairs were completed, the supply was tested to confirm the leaks had been fully resolved.

To finish the works, we carried out a permanent tarmac reinstatement and reinstated the existing white line road marking, leaving the area safe, tidy and fully restored.

A great job completed from excavation and leak detection through to permanent reinstatement at one of the UK’s most historic landmarks.
