On Friday, we came together to celebrate the remarkable career of our Managing Director, Brian Gerhardt, as he officially begins his well‑earned retirement. 🥳
OWL Building Control Solutions may have been founded in 2014, but the story truly began over 30 years ago when Brian first stepped into the world of building control as a trainee building inspector at Wycombe District Council. His dedication, curiosity, and commitment to building standards shaped a career that spanned local authority work, senior roles in the private sector, and eventually the creation of OWL itself. 🦉
After nearly two decades in local authority, building deep technical expertise and strong professional relationships, Brian moved into senior positions within a national Approved Inspector organisation. His involvement in regional management and environmental building systems helped spark the vision that became OWL (Old Wycombe Lads), a name rooted in friendship, integrity, and the values that guided Brian from day one.🤝
What began as a small, family-supported venture has grown organically into the trusted company we are today. OWL reflects Brian’s belief that expertise, honesty, and personal service should be at the heart of building control. 🏠
On Friday, we celebrated not just his professional achievements, but the person behind them, his leadership, his kindness, his consistency, and the legacy he leaves behind.
