Fitted the Hanstrom 4 in 1 boiling water tap supplied by Verana a couple of months ago and it turned out to be faulty. Took an age to get them to sort a replacement. Eventually the replacement arrived. Fitted it and could not for the life of me get it to work. Fitted it, stripped it back out, refitted it, stripped it back out. Then found the cause to be poor manufacturing, the silicon tube running through the tap had been rammed in and kinked causing a blockage. It wasn’t even tested before it left the factory! £700+ for a tap that isn’t tested before it’s sold is a joke! The supplier, Verana, has a poor after sales service.

One of the very important parts of your boiler to check and inspect during a service or gas safety inspection is the Boiler’s chimney terminal. This chimney terminal is plastic and has been sitting in the weather for a long time. The plastic has completely deteriorated to the point where it’s now as brittle as egg shell and should’ve been picked up a looooong time ago. Make sure you’re Gas Engineer is fully inspecting your boiler! This is why a boiler inspection before you buy a house is a must!
