Introducing ONE UP Café & Bistro.

One of Barnes Thompson’s latest completed hospitality projects, located on Dean Street in the heart of Newcastle.

ONE UP gave us the opportunity to create something with real character — combining considered design, bespoke details and quality craftsmanship to transform the space into a completely new hospitality destination.

From the initial concept through to the finished fit-out, our in-house team worked together across the project to bring the client’s vision to life.

From ticket sales office to thriving café.

When King Eddie's approached Barnes Thompson, the goal was clear: transform an outdated ticket office into a modern, welcoming café and get the doors open as quickly as possible.

By managing every stage of the project through our in-house team from design and planning to joinery, electrical, plumbing, decoration and final finishes we were able to deliver a complete transformation on a fast-track program while maintaining the quality our clients expect.

Seeing the space now, full of customers enjoying great coffee, makes every challenge along the way worthwhile.

Some projects are all about making a statement. Others are about creating a space that feels effortless.

For King Eddies Café in North Shields, the focus was on natural materials, clean lines and quality craftsmanship. Solid oak worktops, handcrafted joinery, soft textured walls and a simple neutral palette come together to create a warm, welcoming space where the coffee takes centre stage.
