Supplying Maylim Limited for the new Belvedere Park, East Village, Stratford.

Designed by Grant Associates, the new 0.62-hectare Belvedere Park has been conceived as a contemporary interpretation of the English garden. Trellis arches with climbing plants will frame the main entrances, with vibrant planting, play spaces, new trees, perennial shrubs and street furniture.

So far for the project we have supplied our Rain Garden Subsoil, Rain Garden Topsoil and Neutral pH Topsoil.

A new community garden will form another key feature of the park, encouraging local participation and everyday interaction. Raised planters have been designed to support accessibility for disabled users, while nitrogen-fixing clover planting and pollinator-friendly perennial species will help strengthen biodiversity and seasonal interest throughout the year.

Originally designed and constructed as the Olympic Village for the 2012 Summer Olympics, East Village has been converted for use as a new residential district, complete with shops, bars and restaurants.

Revisited 6 months later: International Way, Stratford.
Last December we supplied Valley Provincial for works at the Telford Homes development next to Stratford International Station.

Our Premium Blended Topsoil, Washed Sand Subsoil, Free-Draining Subsoil and 4/10mm Shingle were used for street level planting. Delivered directly into the beds courtesy of and co grabs.

“Telford Living are currently undertaking the redevelopment of the 1.1 acres site which was formerly a bus layover and taxi rank. Comprising two towers, the development will provide 380 units once complete, 133 of which are affordable. The development will feature a shared roof terrace garden and ground level landscaping. With ‘BREEAM – Excellent’ the target for this project, along with a strong focus on biodiversity and green space, sustainability is at the forefront.”

Delivery of Hoggin last week to Cottier Contracting for pathways around The Russets development, Hawkhurst, just down the road from our Newenden HQ.

A good example of the possible visual differences between delivery and installation. As this is a natural blend of gravel, silt and clay, this material is likely to vary so please request a sample before ordering. Hoggin makes for a very stable surface when compacted.

Supplying for their renovation works at Millwall FC Training Ground.

In this instance the client opted for our fully USGA certified SS01 medium/coarse washed sports sand, for their natural pitch topdressing requirements.

This material is also suitable for sand banding and other natural turf drainage treatments requiring a high performance fine aggregate. We also use this particular washed sand as a key component in our various rootzone and fine turf dressing blends, due to its USGA rating and high permeability.

The Elite Sportsturf team have been working on site over the last two months and the results speak for themselves! ✨🌱

Supplying with our Stockholm Structural Soil to Bramcote Park, South Bermondsey.

Our Stockholm Structural Soil blend combines crushed stone with compost and biochar, allowing tree roots to grow, without disrupting surrounding surfaces. This method also improves storm drainage and prevents soil compaction around the tree roots. Its proven success is evident in Stockholm, Sweden, where trees planted with this method have shown significantly improved health and longevity.

Works at the park will include new hard and soft landscaping, upgraded play equipment and new outdoor seating and furniture, as well as a new orchard and games area. “The concept for Bramcote park is a ‘park of two halves’ comprising a biodiverse and climate resilient ‘forest garden’ and a robust, elegant ‘public square’. “

Designed by architects Assemble and Local Works Studio - the layout is designed to bring children into close contact with trees, and other plants, with interesting foliage, textures, smells and colours. The diversity in structure and species will greatly enhance habitats for wildlife, whilst maintaining lines of sight from the street and a feeling of safe enclosure. The design makes the most of the park’s existing character and materials.

Southwark Council took full responsibility for the site in January, after extensive community design input and consultation.

A rather warm(!) half-term visit to Pembury Primary School yesterday, with a donation of materials for their refreshing their Early Years outdoor area. At Bourne Amenity, we like to support local causes and endeavours, particularly if they encourage the next generation to spend time outdoors, learn about all growing and the natural world around them.

For the wonderful mud kitchens, vegetable garden, potting table and play areas, we provided our Play Pit Sand, 10/30mm Hardwood Play Chip, 10mm Greenwaste Compost, 10/20mm Kentish Ragstone and Cotswold Chipping.

We have been supplying for their work at Hallsville Quarter, Canning Town for almost three years now, with our last visit in December 2025. At that stage the team were working on podium level planting, using our Intensive Lightweight Subsoil and Topsoil.

Now in May, our BS8601 Subsoil and Bourne Amenity Tree Sand are being used for ground level planting, with some areas completed and looking wonderful. Our Structural Urban Tree Sand blend is designed for use in tree pit planting where compaction is a consideration.

We really enjoy following such large-scale projects throughout the years, so thank you to Kingston for having us back to visit once again.

Hallsville Quarter will form part of the £3.7 billion Canning Town and Custom House Regeneration Programme. This phase represents the penultimate stage of the £600 million Hallsville Quarter Masterplan.”

Supplying for the refurbishment of City of London landmark, Adelaide House.

“Constructed in 1924, on the site of the old London Bridge, this Grade II listed, Art Deco building is being remodelled to category A office standard, offering 129,000 square feet of workspace, as well as a business lounge within the ground-floor reception area and a rooftop communal terrace with views over the river.”

The team are also transforming the space along the Thames into a riverside garden, designed by - the area will be split into public realm and private space, allowing all to enjoy the incredible views along the riverbank.

A great showcase for our materials for both ground level and rooftop planting. Materials include our Free-Draining Subsoil, BS3882 Blended Topsoil, 10/20mm Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate (LECA, 0-10mm Composted Bark, Sedum Extensive Substrate and Wildflower Extensive Substrate.

Specialist soils with a view! ✨🏙️🌿☀️ kindly had us to visit for the installation of our Intensive Lightweight Topsoil and 10/20mm LECA at More London.

Situated on the south bank of the River Thames between London Bridge and Tower Bridge, the More London development began in the early 2000s and continues with the redevelopment of the former City Hall and adjacent riverfront.

As the location for re-landscaping is on a podium construction above the riverbank itself, our Lightweight Topsoil and extra Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate were required to meet specifications.

A very exciting project that we will be sure to revisit. Thanks again to Elite for having us!

We’ve making the most of the weather this week for site visits 🌷☀️ While in London, we stopped by this stunning area in St James Park, where last November we supplied Warwick Landscaping.

The team cleared the large prominent border, opposite Horse Guards Parade, and installed a fresh layer of our BS3882 Topsoil with additional Green Waste Compost to enhance the organic matter content. This provided a platform for healthy plant growth and good microbial activity.

We always love a “before and after” comparison, especially when the results are so spectacular!
