A few weeks ago, a couple came in really wanting French doors for their kitchen extension. It’s a great idea; they can really open up a room.
But once we talked about the space, how narrow the opening was, and which way it faced, it turned out a bifold would work much better and use the width more effectively.
I explained this to them. It’s not that French doors aren’t good—they are—but they just weren’t the right fit for their space.
That’s something people don’t always expect from a showroom. Many assume you’ll just agree and sell whatever is asked for, try to upsell, or add extras that aren’t really needed.
And honestly, some places probably do that.
We’d rather someone leaves with what’s right for their home, even if it’s a smaller job, a cheaper option, or means they need to come back after thinking it over. It might take longer, but it’s the only way that makes sense to us.
You want someone to recommend you to their neighbour in five years, not just make a quick sale today.
So if you visit and we ask a lot of questions before talking about products, that’s the reason. We want to find out what you really need, not just what’s easiest for us to sell.
