A privilege and an honour to be a part of this amazing project, the beautiful clock Tower refurbishment at the historic municipal building in Truro alongside Fox Construction Solutions.
LDC have been tasked with construction of the in-situ reinforced concrete sections. The lowest part of the tower as seen in the illustration.

The clock tower has stood over Truro for many years and whilst the outer of the tower will remain visually true to the original, using modern construction techniques, we have replaced the corroded internal support structure, making sure this treasured building will still be around for many more years to come.

The technicality involved in the shuttering formwork was unbelievable with very little room available. A big thanks go to our carpenters Gary Paskell and Joe Szlitkus and all the LDC team. This has been a very challenging project but that is what LDC is about. We don’t do boring!

We are also pleased to announce we have been awarded the next phase of the construction. The install of the pre-cast concrete building the tower to the top.

When you just can’t find somewhere to park your helicopter and luxury cars ! You probably need a garage. And no ordinary garage.
Our most recent project was this stepped retaining wall with bases and concrete pads.
It had its issues like most jobs but we are happy with the end product as is the client.

Heres one of our latest jobs done before Christmas. Its on the new Trevemper housing estate in Newquay working alongside SCB Groundworks.
Two electric sub-stations. LDC carried out the Reinforced Concrete bases with sumps and many ducts for the cables. You can see the various processes on the pictures below and we are very happy with the finish as was the client.

We have been a very happy customer of Devoran Metals in Cornwall for some years now, so we were delighted when they asked us to work with them prefabbing some cages that would go on to the HS2 project.
The cages would be used for crash testing, fire proofing and basically broken up and scrapped! They had to be of a very high spec and be millimetre perfect.
They were all made at Devoran’s factory. Something a little different for us, but it was nice to be in the shade as this one was completed during the heatwave – seems so long ago!

We have been quiet over the summer on social media, what with the wedding and all, but the work has still been continuing thick and fast! Here are some photos of job now completed in our beautiful home town, Newquay. A new residential property overlooking the Gannel River and Crantock Beach. Retaining walls, capping beam and stepped footings in a tricky location, but well worth the effort for what will be a stunning view!

The beginnings of another luxury dwelling in beautiful Trevose on the North Cornwall coast.

Really pleased to be involved in this project for our great client, Gynn Construction.

A piled reinforced concrete house raft, involving ground beams and a mesh slab, with perimeter shuttering and a toe detail. The concrete pour came in at 88 cube with an Easyfloat finish.

Here are some photos of another successful project recently carried out, on the ever expanding Nansledan development in Newquay. It is a Culvert structure which will basically be an underground tunnel. This is the first phase of this project we have been involved in and hopefully have more to come. Looking forward to going back soon. A great job by all involved as ever.

Wanted to share with you all a job we have been on for the last few months alongside Morcom construction, the gorgeous Fowey Hall Hotel. Various elements on this job, including capping beam, bases, slabs and retaining walls, as well as formworks, back blinding and basic shuttering. Great job by all, thanks to the team and to Stuart Harris and his team too!
