WSI Wins Higher Distinction for Health & Safety 🏆

We’re proud to share another fantastic milestone for Water Solutions Ireland, receiving a Higher Distinction at the 35th All-Ireland Occupational Safety Awards, held at the Great Southern Hotel, Killarney, on Friday night!

Organised by the National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) in conjunction with NISG - Northern Ireland Safety Group, the awards recognise excellence in occupational health and safety.

Our SHEQ Advisor, Celeste Flynn, proudly collected the award at the presentation dinner. As our first-ever entry, this is a fantastic achievement, recognising WSI as a high-performing organisation demonstrating excellent health and safety management. 👏

The safety and wellbeing of our people remain at the heart of everything we do, and this recognition reflects the commitment of our team to maintaining high standards across our business and projects. 💙💚

As we celebrate our fourth award in four weeks, we’re incredibly proud of our team and grateful to everyone whose hard work and dedication have contributed to these achievements. 👏

WSI Marks World Mental Health Day with PIPS Hope and Support 💚

Ahead of World Mental Health Day tomorrow, we welcomed Raymond Flynn, an active volunteer with PIPS Hope and Support Charity and Ursula, Community Development Officer with PIPS, to WSI yesterday for a mental health awareness session. 💬

This year's theme, “Lived Experience Heard: Real Voices, Real Change”, resonates strongly with Raymond's visit. He spoke openly about his personal journey with mental health, and we greatly appreciate the courage it took to share his story with our team.
His honest and engaging talk made a real impression, reminding us how important it is to listen, learn from others and look out for one another. 🤝

Ursula also spoke about the vital work the PIPS charity does in supporting people who may be struggling with their mental health, those in crisis and families bereaved by su***de. 🫶

We're proud to support PIPS Hope and Support through a donation to help them continue their invaluable work in our local community.. We'll also be supporting their Christmas campaign, helping the charity reach those who may need a little extra support during the festive season.

A huge thank you to Raymond and Ursula for their time, honesty and for helping us keep these important conversations going. 👏 💙 💚

🏆 Success at the 2026 Northern Ireland Construction Awards 🏆

It’s been an amazing few weeks for the WSI team, and we’re so thankful to have another reason to celebrate!

For the third week in a row, we had an award to celebrate, this time at the inaugural 2026 Northern Ireland Construction Awards at the ICC Belfast, where the winning streak continued and we were named winners of the Excellence in Training category. 🥳

Training and development is something we really value at WSI, from apprenticeships and student placements to professional qualifications and supporting people as they progress through the business. It was fantastic to see this recognised on the night.

Given the calibre of finalists, we were also thrilled to see Northern Ireland Water's Aughlish Water Pumping Station upgrade project receive Highly Commended in the Energy Efficiency Project of the Year category. Delivered through our WSI/GEDA Construction JV partnership in collaboration with NI Water and Pumps & Systems, it was great to see the hard work and collaboration behind the project recognised. 🤝
Congratulations to H&A Group, who took home the award in this category — a fantastic achievement.

We were also proud to be finalists in the Excellence in Health, Safety & Wellbeing category. Congratulations to Lowry Building & Civil Engineering, who received the award — a very worthy winner.

A huge thank you to our staff, partners and clients, who have all played a key part in these fantastic achievements. And not forgetting the CEF for such a fantastic event. 👏 ⭐

And after three weeks of celebrating, a quiet weekend will definitely be on the cards! 💙 💚

🏆 We’re on a roll! 🥳

It’s been an amazing couple of weeks for the Water Solutions Ireland team!!

Last Thursday, we were celebrating a win at the Business in the Community NI Responsible Business Awards. Then last night, we were celebrating again — taking home Best Apprenticeship Employer at the Greater Newry Business Awards. 🏆

There were some fantastic businesses in this category, so hearing WSI announced as the winner was a brilliant moment for the team. A huge congratulations to ASEE Group on being Highly Commended too. 👏

We’re particularly proud of this one because it recognises the work we put into supporting our apprentices and placement students. Seeing them develop, gain confidence and become part of the WSI team is something we’re really proud of. 💙 💚

A huge congratulations to all the finalists and winners, and a big thank you to our category sponsor Southern Regional College and of course Newry Chamber for organising a fantastic event celebrating our local business community. 🌟 👏

🏆✨ RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS AWARD WINNERS! ✨🏆
One-to-Watch Award 2026

There might be a few sore heads at WSI today… but it was definitely for a good cause! 😂🥂

We’re still celebrating after a fantastic night at the ICC Belfast, where Water Solutions Ireland was named winner of the One-to-Watch Award at the Business in the Community NI Responsible Business Awards 2026. 🏆

The award recognises the progress we’ve made in putting responsible business at the heart of what we do — from investing in our people and apprenticeships, to supporting our communities, creating social value and strengthening our focus on sustainability.

It was a strong category with some fantastic companies shortlisted, so we were absolutely thrilled to hear WSI announced as the winner. 🎉

A huge well done to our entire team. The work that goes on across WSI every day is what made this possible, and we’re incredibly proud of everyone who played a part. 💙💚

Congratulations to all the finalists and winners on the night — it was great to see so much responsible business being celebrated right across Northern Ireland. 👏

💛 Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, we’re highlighting the importance of talking openly, looking out for one another and creating a workplace where people feel supported to ask for help.

At Water Solutions Ireland, we have three trained Mental Health First Aiders, and we’re members of the Lighthouse Charity, providing colleagues with access to free, confidential mental health and crisis support.

On Tuesday, a number of our team also took part in the ‘Preventing Su***de in the Construction Industry’ webinar with Emily Pearson, CEO of Wellbeing Lead Academy, helping to build awareness and understanding around su***de prevention.

Looking ahead, we’re working towards an organisational system aligned with BS 30480:2025, supporting a more proactive approach to su***de prevention.

There is always more we can do. By starting conversations and looking out for each other, we can help create a workplace where no one feels they have to struggle alone. 💙💚
