Our next project of the week is:
‘Chambers’ private members club at The Taj and TH@51, bar and restaurant with open kitchen including grill and chef’s table.

The project at the Taj St James’ Court Hotel commenced at the end of 2019 but, due to a long hiatus caused by the impact of Covid on the Hotel’s operations, did not complete until August 2021.

Working with Box Associates and Conran and Partners, WFC were the principal contractor for the entire project and completed the enabling, drainage and fit out works to ‘Chambers’ and the new basement kitchen. WFC also completed refurbishment works to the courtyard.

The services distribution was particularly challenging as the plant needed to be situated on the roof of the hotel, some seven storeys up, and the available head-height, particularly in the basement, was very limited. In addition, the structure of the building, evolved over many years and phases, meant that navigating the many beams and columns entailed significant builders works.

Engel, which occupies the North and East mezzanine of The Royal Exchange was a project finished by WFC last year.

This project included a refurbishment of the mezzanine area and the restaurant. Work included drywall construction, joinery, wall and floor finishes. As a negotiated project, WFC worked alongside designers Pattern Haus and project managers PSE Associates.

Introducing Sushi Samba’s new cocktail bar and lounge - SAMBA ROOM.

A challenging refit project to remodel and refurbish an existing bar/restaurant. This project involved working in a live environment on the 39th floor of London’s Heron Tower, designing and building a new reception lobby with cloaks, a bar area, a PDR and toilets.
There was also co-ordination with suppliers to design and install a fully retractable table with the PDR, which when not in use, retracts into the ceiling creating a ceiling feature.

WFC worked with designers FABLED STUDIO and QS’s/Project Managers Cu***ng Group on this project which was completed over a 13 week period.

Distinguished by its soft curves, spectacular London views, and innovative cocktail offering, SAMBAROOM exudes warmth and elegance while celebrating SUSHISAMBA’s Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian heritage.
Adjacent to the bar is a versatile lounge illuminated by the East London skyline and adorned with retro furniture that embodies the mid-century Brazilian aesthetic. This unique space seamlessly transforms into an intimate private dining room with a touch of theatrical flair by artfully suspending a custom-designed sculptural table from its ceiling.”

Our latest project in London’s iconic Heron Tower came in the form of the SAMBAROOM and the 39th floor.

The Samba Room occupies 2,500sq ft in a separate area of the Bishopsgate skyscraper and features an eye-catching design from Fabled Studio. A gilded canopy entrance and mirrored walkway lead to a sky bar where cocktails are served against a panoramic backdrop of east London. In addition to the new bar, an adjacent lounge can be reconfigured as an events space or a private dining room for 26, with a custom-designed sculptural table lowered from the ceiling.

“Since its inception in 2012, Sushisamba Heron Tower has redefined the City of London,” group CEO Omar Gutierrez said.

Today we’re going to take you back to a project we finished in 2023 called Lio London.

Started in July 2022, this entertainment extravaganza project was completed over a 25-week period allowing London’s nightlife enthusiasts to get a glimpse behind the curtain in March 2023.

Working alongside project managers Gardiner & Theobald and Designers MJP Architects & Pasha, WFC were able to deliver a strip out and fit out to this Leicester Square based venue.

Lio London invite their diverse international audience to get dressed to the nines and enjoy an unforgettable fiesta combining cabaret, dining, and late-night clubbing.

The revamped space provides 200 covers for dinner across the original ballroom floor and a wraparound mezzanine. The room can turn into a late-night club, able to host 700 people, with the stage disappearing into the ground for the DJ booth to take centre stage.

With the UK in the grip of a heatwave we thought we would take a look at one of our favourite "rooftop dining" experiences, a project called Allbright.

This 2019 project was the conversion of a five-storey office in the heart of Mayfair into a private members’ club designed by and for women.

The Maddox Street Members Club had a 19 week programme with a 2 week lead in time. Working with award-winning architecture and design collective d-raw studios, the building is a study in cool, relaxed sophistication.

The venue includes an 80-seat restaurant with a theatre kitchen, rooftop dining, two bars, private dining rooms, private event space, a podcast room, a beauty and wellness salon, and a fitness centre, as well as training, meeting and office spaces.

A recently finished project - Met Aracde.Housed in the 14,000 sqft historic, Edwardian Met Arcade, Box Hall City, was completed by WFC and opened in April. It’s location marks a move away from the brand’s signature shipping containers and towards a heritage-led approach. The space is home to 14 kitchens, each offering exceptional dining experiences in the heart of Liverpool Street. With a number of bars also on site the newest Box Hall offering has brought together the best of London’s food scene in a vibrant and dynamic setting. This negotiated project meant working alongside project managers Morgan Carr and designer Macaulay Sinclair over a 22 week programme. Work covered the ground and first floors and involved MEP & joinery.

It’s ‘Motivation Monday’ at WFC – so let’s look at a fit out of an office project.

We were delighted to work with Castleforge again in 2021 on this Exeter project with their flexible office provider, Clockwise. It allowed us to work with South West contractors and suppliers, all to benefit our local community close to our Head Office.

The project was completed over a 28 period working alongside the Project managers, BA Partnerships and the Designers Cartwright Pickard. The project covered 36,342 sqft and was successfully delivered on time and was a great success for all the WFC Team involved.

Situated in the middle of the city near the Cathedral Green, Clockwise Exeter at Broadwalk House is a bright and airy building with meeting rooms, private phone booths and carefully designed spaces for different working patterns. The space created breakout areas, kitchenettes and club lounges as well as meeting rooms, event spaces and the Two hands Café.

Broadwalk House was named Best Commercial Development at the Exeter Property Awards 2021. Say goodbye to conventional and corporate offices. Say hello to Clockwise.

It’s hump day. What better way to put us in the mood than taking a look at One Aldwych Hotel.

Started in 2019 under a 10 week programme, this 5* hotel had its common areas completely refurbished. The work included a new glazed entrance and upgrades to the bar, reception, spa, restaurant and public toilets, as well as improvements to the back of house areas.

Working alongside project managers KeyTask Management Ltd Designers FABLED STUDIO and Architects Jestico + Whiles WFC were able to deliver a high grade fit out to this beautiful hotel, based at the heart of Covent Garden.

Originally Built in 1905 as the home of the Morning Post newspaper, One Aldwych’s Lobby bar is a London institution known for exquisite and inventive signature cocktails whilst their indulgent spa offers total body and mind relaxation.

The weekend is here ... So, we’re going to take you back to a project we finished in 2024 called Arlington Street.

This restaurant became a reanimation of Le Caprice but even more exciting. Completed over a 10-week period, Arlington is contemporary since the forties, a restaurant that reflects the appetites of creative London.

Working alongside project managers PSE Associates and Designers Studio Shayne Brady WFC were able to deliver a strip out and fit out to this St James based venue.
This “new” Arlington is still the place people loved and remembered, a place full of memories, only now it has a fresh edit with David Bailey’s black and white portraits still hanging on the walls. There’s a feeling with Arlington that nothing has really changed yet the world is a very different place than in 1981. As King said, ‘I like to think of that old quote from The Leopard: “Everything must change for everything to remain the same”’.

What better way to put us in the mood than taking a look at Bvlgari Hotel.

Started in 2019 under a 15 week programme, this 5* hotel had a fit out done to its bar and restaurant areas. Working alongside project managers and Designer , WFC were able to deliver a high grade fit out to this beautiful hotel, based in Knightsbridge.

Expansive views over Knightsbridge towards Hyde Park can be enjoyed from the 86 square metre luxurious suites whilst at the heart of the unique Bvlgari Spa experience is the most dramatic private pool complex in central London. Providing a unique space in which to host film premiers, business presentations or press announcements, Bvlgari Hotel London’s luxurious private cinema offers the most advanced cinema-quality HD sound and vision. It’s ‘Workout Wednesday’– let’s take a look at one of our gym projects.

Studio Fix is located in Kensington, London and was a project that saw us create a high-end gym and wellness club, transforming the space over 3 floors. The fit out included work on the basement floor which housed a fitness studio and changing/shower rooms, a ground floor housing the entrance/reception area and a first-floor housing 2 studios, a café/lounge and a back of house office/service areas.

To complete the project there was a minor strip out with full electrical, mechanical and plumbing installations with drainage adaptions. New ceilings and partitions were added, joinery and balustrading installed, new flooring and external signage as well as awnings.

Our team worked closely with the client and professional team – consisting of designers WGP Architects and QS’s Stace to ensure the 16-week project was delivered on time, aligning with the client’s vision for a premium wellness experience.
