The thing I hate about Fridays is when our team turns up on site and finds the most unpleasant people have decided to fly tip on a country lane.
Why oh why do people think this is the right thing to do.
So where was I.
Today the digger and flail cleared over 750 meters of a really over grown byway and cleaned it all, what a huge improvement and a very BIG thank you to Will for his efforts..... what a star.
Then clearance of a footpath across the countryside, great job Lee and co.

Then a quick check of some safety barriers we have in place, to check they are secure for the weekend.
Last of all to get everything ready for next week.
Watch this space.

Good people of Newton Abbot
Ogwell Mill Lane Bridleway will be closed for essential maintenance work from next Wednesday the 9th of September until Friday afternoon the 11th September. It will not be possible to use the area marked in Red on the map attached. Please see the official closure notice attached.

The essential maintenance work is to enable us to carry out improvements to the route. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure.

Should you have any questions regarding the planned work to this route. Please contact Devon County Council Public Rights Of Way Department via the phone number on the closure notice.

Good people of Tedburn St Mary.
Please see the photo's of the closure notice for next week regarding Church walk Teburn St Mary.
The route will be closed. The gate at the southern end will be closed and locked. The gate at the north end will only be open for plant machinery to travel through.
It will not be possible to use the route for foot passage.
We have been contracted by Devon County Council Public Rights Of Way Department, to carry out essential maintenance to this route.
We apologise for any inconvenience to you, but the maintenance work will improve this route for many years to come.

Then clearance of an overgrown path at Teignmouth. Hedges cut back tight. Strimming to follow shortly.
The collection of a fence that had "fallen" down and barrier it off until we can get time to build a new fence
And then....

Another friendly sign on a bridleway entrance reminding people of the rules for this particular bridleway.

Phew now we are heading home.

Its so humbling the compliments people have been paying to me over the last two Tuesdays. This very popular route between Milber Newton Abbot and coffinswell is a very popular route amongst walkers. The amount of people I have seen recently excels even covid times. So many people have stopped and thanked me for the work we do on this route.

The clearance and vegetation cutting is paid privately to us by Milber Estates, who's land this bridleway runs through. The surface has recently received sponsorship from.Devon County Council Public Rights Of Way Department.
The elbow grease is supplied by ourselves and Green Box Gardens Devon.
Milber lane is one of the only public rights of way routes that I know of that is nearly totally flat..well as flat as you get in Devon.
Well worth a visit. I will try to post a map reference over the next few days.

Good people of Tedburn St Mary.

Prior notice of another public right of way closure.

We will be working on the church walk footpath next Monday , Tuesday and potentially Wednesday. The route will be under an official closure notice and it will not be possible to walk past our machinery.

I will post the official notice over the coming days.

There seems to be alot of confusion on the law around vehicles of public rights of way these days.Unless you own or rent...

There seems to be alot of confusion on the law around vehicles of public rights of way these days.
Unless you own or rent or live on the route of a bridleway. You are not permitted to drive on them, even with a E bike or E scooter.

So as a reminder we have been out putting signage up on a route which people seem to think they are permitted to drive on.

I think they may just notice the new signage.

Clarification on e bikes and the law.

High-Powered Motors: E-bikes with a continuous rated power output exceeding 250 Watts.High-Speed Assistance: E-bikes where the electrical assistance does not cut off when the vehicle reaches 15.5 mph (25 km/h).Unpedalled Throttles: Throttle-only models that can propel the bike faster than 3.7 mph (6 km/h) without the rider actively pedalling (unless type-approved as a full moped).De-restricted/Dongled Bikes: Standard pedelecs that have been modified or "dongled" to bypass the 15.5 mph speed limiter.Underage Riders: E-bikes ridden by anyone under the age of 14, even if the bike itself is EAPC-compliant.Other Electric Transport: Devices such as e-scooters, e-skateboards, and children's electric motor toys are also illegal on bridleways
