Join our team!

We’re looking for a reliable, motivated and hardworking person to join our tree surgery and fencing business on a part-time basis.

If you enjoy working outdoors, don’t mind getting your hands dirty and take pride in doing a job properly, this could be the role for you.

What the job involves

* Tree removal and maintenance
* Fencing installation and repairs
* Hedge cutting and garden clearance
* Using tools and machinery
* Loading and unloading materials
* General labouring and site tidy-ups
* Working alongside an experienced team

Experience is preferred but not essential — the right attitude and willingness to learn are more important. Training can be provided.

You will need to be:

* Reliable and punctual
* Hardworking and physically fit
* Comfortable working outdoors
* Able to work well as part of a team
* Practical and willing to learn
* Able to get to various job locations
* A driving licence would be an advantage

Today we removed a cluster of beech trees that had 8 BT lines running directly through them. Beech trees are known for their shallow, wide-spreading root systems, which can cause issues when they’re planted close to structures and services.

In this case, the roots were putting increasing pressure on the adjacent wall, leading to movement and damage over time. Combined with branches growing around live BT lines, the trees posed both a structural and electrical safety risk—especially during high winds or storms.

Although tree removal is always a last resort, safety and long-term protection of property and services must come first. The work was carried out carefully to minimise disruption and leave the area safe and stable.

If you’re concerned about trees near buildings or overhead lines, we’re always happy to offer free advice or inspections.

As part of the job, the timber was cut and left neatly for the customer to season and use in their log burner—making sure as much of the tree as possible is put to good use. 🔥🌳
