OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATOR - Office based at Hathernware Industrial Estate, LE12 5ES
We are looking for a reliable and organised Office & Operations Administrator to join our team. This is a full-time, on-site role with no remote working option. We are a small, friendly office environment - and this role will be replacing someone within the office who will be on hand until the end of the year to ensure a smooth role transition.
We are looking for someone to be with us long term, and experience and attitude is more important to us than qualifications. We can arrange necessary training (such as for O licence compliance, health and safety etc.) for the right candidate.
Working hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 4:00pm and Friday 8:00am – 3:00pm, with one 30-minute unpaid break per day.
The role offers a starting salary of £13.00 per hour, with a performance and salary review after 6 months.
This position is varied, supporting both office administration and operational compliance across the business. No specific qualifications are required, but strong organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks is essential.
The ideal candidate would also be proactive and able to use quieter periods productively, as well as be confident in identifying additional tasks that need attention without waiting to be directed (whether that be improving organisation, updating records or supporting other areas of the business).
A self-motivated approach is important with the ability to stay engaged, spot what needs doing and take initiative to keep things running smoothly.
The role will involve a wide range of administrative, compliance, HR, and operational support tasks. Responsibilities include daily coordination of job information and staff activity, assisting with bookings and purchasing requirements, and ensuring key operational records are kept up to date. You will also support vehicle and equipment monitoring, staff administration, and general office organisation.
You will be expected to help ensure that business operations run smoothly by maintaining accurate records, supporting internal processes, and assisting management with day-to-day requirements.
Key Responsibilities (Guide Only – Not Exhaustive):
Daily tasks include updating project information, supporting vehicle and staff records, handling hotel bookings, placing orders as required, and assisting with general office coordination. You will also help ensure vehicle checks are completed and any issues are followed up.
Weekly duties include supporting health and safety checks, reviewing compliance items, assisting with staff records and leave tracking, and helping monitor equipment, vehicles, and site requirements. You will also assist with social media updates and general administrative reporting.
Monthly and periodic tasks involve assisting with compliance checks such as fire safety, vehicle documentation, training records, credit card reconciliation, and system updates. You will also support wider business compliance including health and safety documentation, HR records, and equipment servicing schedules.
The role also includes supporting employee and subcontractor onboarding, organising plant hire and purchase order tracking, and assisting with insurance, fleet, and operational compliance tasks. Full training and guidance will be provided where needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workload
- Confident using basic computer systems (Excel, email, documents)
- Reliable, proactive attitude
- Ability to work on-site (no remote option available)
What We Offer:
- £13.00 per hour starting salary* to be reviewed at the end of the six month probationary period
- Full-time, stable working hours
- Varied role with training and support provided
- Opportunity to become a key part of a growing operational team
