Got some seeds sown yesterday 🥳

My little helper was all in using the dibber that was her Great Grandma’s 🥰

Am I sowing a bit late? Maybe but I think everything will catch up and if nothing comes of it we had fun for a couple of hours in the garden and isn’t that what it’s all about ultimately?

Managed some time in the garden today despite solo parenting this weekend!

We took some rosemary cuttings from a very old, woody plant that’s also in an awful position. Once the flowers go over it’ll be coming out. Fingers crossed at least some of these take - I have plans for them.

Also managed some weeding, I’d say 70% of what’s in the garden is weeds or things I plan to rip out but starting small and doing a little at a time.

Can’t wait to get some new bits in the ground next week when I have some time off ☺️

What to do?

This little bed is in the front garden and I’d love to make it really fun and colourful!

My plan is to leave the hydrangea but I want something in the ground around it.

The space is:
North facing (full shade)
Quite dry
Small
Surrounded by paving

Feels tricky. Any ideas of what to do plant? 🤔

A new space to enjoy growing in 💚

In case you missed my stories, I’ve said goodbye to the allotment. For me it’s the wrong season of life to be spending hours down there. Time with my girl is precious and fleeting.

I’ll get back to allotmenting at some point but for now this is the space I get to care for and it feels pretty great. Plan to add a couple of beds for veg plus grow a few bits in pots too.

Finally getting back into the swing of growing and gardening again 🪴🌱

My garden’s full of weeds and the allotment is definitely in need of more work BUT for the first time in a long time I’m finding the joy in getting my hands dirty and seeing things grow.

I’m still keeping it simple with the plot this year with a mix of seed sowing and plug plants.

The garden is a work in progress and you can definitely see the neglect but it’ll come together again over the next few months 🤞🏼

Honestly, I can’t wait for summer to be here 🙌🏼
